Super Bowl 60 Game Prop Best Bet
What a year it has been. Super Bowl 60 has officially arrived, and it feels like just yesterday when Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos took down Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. Time truly flies, and the fun should continue as the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara for the biggest game of the year.
By the time this game kicks off, our incredible writers are going to have their fingers cramping up. There will be endless articles covering every novelty, prop, side, and touchdown bet you could possibly imagine. Be on the lookout for more coverage as the days lead up to the big game.
Today, I am breaking down a prop bet that has been near and dear to my heart over the last two weeks. It brings great excitement to run back the highest scoring half prop. I tested it during the College Football National Championship, and it cashed with ease, as only 11 points were needed after a 10 point first half. The defenses showed up early, then both teams made second half adjustments that opened up the offenses. I expect that same script to play out in Super Bowl 60.
The Concerns Are Valid
The narrative surrounding the Patriots and their path to the Super Bowl has lingered all season. They took down the Texans and Broncos along the way, but not because Drake Maye elevated his play to another level.
New England benefited from CJ Stroud delivering one of the worst performances of his career in the divisional round and from Jarrett Stidham starting over Bo Nix due to a foot injury in the AFC Championship. While I do not expect the Patriots to fall flat, I do believe they stumble out of the gate.
Seattle represents the most complete team New England has faced all season. The Seahawks rank number one in first half points allowed, surrendering just 7.5 points before halftime. They have also been strong early, averaging over 14 points per first half this season. For the sake of this prop, Seattle ranks fifth in second half scoring, posting nearly 14 points after the break.
On the other side, the Patriots rank sixth in first half points allowed, giving up just over nine points in the opening half. Somewhat surprisingly, yet understandable given their schedule, New England ranks number one in first half scoring at 16.5 points. Seattle's defense should be able to slow down a Patriots offense that goes into Super Bowl 60 averaging only 18 points per game this postseason.
Get through the nerves and jitters in the first 30 minutes, then let it rip in the second half. This was the first prop that caught my eye as more numbers continued to drop leading up to kickoff. I expect this game to follow a similar script to the national championship, with the fireworks arriving after halftime.
