The National Championship is finally here, and it feels like the perfect way to close out another unforgettable college football season. No. 1 Indiana and No. 10 Miami arrive on the biggest stage after two very different, yet equally impressive, paths. Indiana has been the model of consistency all season, built on discipline, balance, and elite defense, while Miami has thrived as the underdog, silencing doubters at every turn. With championship pressure, elite defenses, and high level adjustments expected, this matchup shapes up as a methodical, physical battle where patience and execution will decide who lifts the trophy.

#10 Miami vs. #1 Indiana – January 19

The stage is set. The National Championship is here, and the saddest part of it all is that college football is coming to an end. The No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers will host the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Both teams are coming off monumental runs. The Hurricanes entered this tournament with plenty of people saying they did not belong, and they have been proving the doubters wrong ever since. On the other side, Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers are looking to do the unthinkable, deliver Indiana's first national title, and finish a perfect 16-0.

Our senior writer, Nate Hornung, broke down the early odds at the beginning of the week. Now it is time to find some bets to ride before the season comes to an end. For starters, I personally will not be taking a side in this matchup. I am already holding an Indiana to win it all ticket at +135 that I grabbed prior to the semifinal games last week. The value on the Hoosiers at plus money to win the title was too good to pass up. The look ahead line had their moneyline around -250, and their moneyline against Oregon was -170. Rolling it over seemed like the better move, but with the moneyline now sitting at -345, I am more than happy with that decision.

Player Props

From a player prop standpoint, the first knee jerk plays that come to mind are Heisman Trophy winner, Fernando Mendoza to score a touchdown at +210, or his rushing yards over 20 at -105 on Lucky Rebel. The Indiana quarterback has not scored a touchdown since November 28th against Purdue. Meanwhile, he has rushed for 20 or more yards in nine of his 15 games this season. Miami loves to get after the quarterback, ranking 13th in sack percentage this year. On the other side, the Hoosiers rank 72nd in offensive sack percentage. The future first round pick is great on the run and is always a threat to break out a big one.

Game Props

One game prop that has really caught my attention this week is taking the second half to be the highest scoring half at +115. Both teams feature exceptional defenses, and I expect them to be fully prepared early and limit scoring in the first half. On the season, both defenses rank inside the top five in first half points allowed. Each allows fewer than seven points before halftime, with Miami giving up 4.8 points and Indiana allowing 6.6. I also expect adjustments at halftime to open things up, leading to more explosive offense in the second half. We have seen plenty of late scoring in these playoff games. The Fiesta Bowl featured 25 points in the fourth quarter alone. The Peach Bowl saw 36 points in the second half. Yes, there were 42 points in the first half of that game, but Miami brings a much stronger defense than Oregon.

With the season coming to a close, this National Championship sets up as a battle of resilience and discipline. Rather than chasing a side, the value lies in selective props and game flow angles. Expect a tight first half, adjustments after the break, and a finish worthy of a title stage.

Best Bet: Highest Scoring Half: 2nd Half (+115) odds via Lucky Rebel
