We've got a couple familiar faces. Royce had a tough outing last night but Winker was able to hit a bomb over the wall for us. Let's see if these boys can both do it tonight.
Royce Lewis has been on fire since returning from injury.
Yeah, we're going right back to Royce tonight, it's impossible not to. Lewis went 0/4 last night in the desert and now on back to back nights. This is the first time all season he's gone back to back games without a hit.
He's batting 0.329 in 19 games so far this season, with 10 home runs and 14 RBI. He's been electric for this Twins lineup and just in time too.
On the mound today for the Diamondbacks is certified turkey tosser, Ryne Nelson. He's posted a 5.18 ERA this season but he's given up 5+ hits in 10 of his 12 starts this season. He's given up 8 home runs across these 12 starts, allowing righties to bat 0.362 and 0.562 SLG.
Lewis has no history against Nelson but now coming off an 0/4 game, this feels like the perfect spot to start with a bang.
You're probably sitting here, wondering why the hell are we betting Winker again tonight? Well, he had 1 hit last night in San Diego and it went right over the wall in deep outfield.
Winker is batting 0.273 against righties this season with 8 of his 9 home runs coming against right handed pitchers.
Tonight he's back in Petco Park against a struggling Dylan Cease. He's allowed 5+ hits in 7 of his L8 starts, giving up 9 home runs in that same span. He's holding both righties and lefties to sub 0.225 batting averages, but he's giving up a fair amount of hard contact.
Winker's recorded just 1 hit in his L4 games and tonight in San Diego, I think it's the perfect time to bust out of little slump.
