The Rockies and Tigers finish up their 3 game set today, at Comerica Park, in Detroit. The Tiger bats have absolutely obliterated this Colorado pitching staff in this series. Detroit has won the first two games by scoring 17 runs combined, including a 7 run 8th inning in yesterdays contest. I don't see their offense slowing down in the finale as The Tigers' bats are hot right now. Confidence is riding high as young hitters like Riley Greene (.281 BA, 19 HR) and Kevin McGonigle (.272 BA) anchor a productive top half of the order. Detroit is averaging 4.9 runs/9 vs right handed pitchers at home and they have cleared this mark in 4 of the first 5 games on this homestand.
Gabriel Hughes toes the rubber for the Rockies as they look to avoid a sweep. The rookie actually has worse numbers on the road than at home. On the road he sports a 7.76 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP. Behind him is a bullpen that owns a 4.98 ERA, which is 3rd worst in the majors. Their bullpen was heavily taxed during yesterday's late-inning collapse. If Hughes is forced out early, Detroit will get plenty of looks at a worn-down, struggling relief unit. I like the Tigers to continue to put up crooked numbers today.

Riley is hitting .291 against right handers with 36 extra base hits. Green should stay hot today.

The Nats have taken the frist two games of this series, including a 6-5 win yesterday, in extra innings. Today's pitching features a highly volatile pitching matchup between two right-handers who have consistently surrendered runs this season. Grayson Rodriguez gets the start for the Angels carrying 4.71 road ERA, and he faces Jake Irvin, who counters for Washington with a home ERA of 6.75.
Both lineups should find plenty of success early, but the potential for runs increases heavily in the later innings due to severe bullpen fatigue, due to yesterdays extra inning affair. Washington's bullpen in particular suffered another late-game collapse, confirming that neither coaching staff can rely on clean relief depth right now. With two struggling starters vulnerable to hard contact and two depleted bullpens forced into action, the Over looks good here today.

Washington SS CJ Abrams is hitting .262 on the season with 30 home runs and 96 runs batted in. After enduring a tough hitting slump at the end of August, Abrams has completely snapped out of his funk in this series. He cleared this total base line in each of the first two games racking up a pair of hits on both Friday and Saturday, including a double to display his extra-base upside. Today, he draws a phenomenal, smash matchup against Angels right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. Abrams draws an elite-level matchup today. Against right-handed pitching, he is hitting .304 with 23 of his 30 home runs coming against righties. I like the Washington slugger to stay hot today.
