The race in the AL East looks like it might come down to the absolute wire. The Orioles held top spot in the division till just 2 days ago when the Yankees snatched it back.

Baltimore's gone 18-19 since July 1st this year and just split a short 2-game series with the Nationals. They were catching fire early this summer, going 34-21 from May to the end of June.

Now the Yankees have a 1 game lead on the Orioles for the division lead as the Red Sox fight for a Wild Card spot.

Boston sits 2 games back of the Royals for the last Wild Card sport with 7 games separating them and the Orioles. The Sox have lost 5 of the 6 matchups so far this year with the Orioles and will need that to change if they want to make the post-season.
