Packers @ Jaguars Analysis & Breakdown

The Packers have won 3 games in a row, 5 of their last 6 overall. Jordan Love is playing at an MVP-type level and I don't think it's up for debate. He's averaging 270 passing yards per game and he's thrown 15 touchdowns.

Love has also thrown 8 interceptions this year, but his 15 touchdown passes rank 2nd highest in the NFL and he's played 2 fewer games than everyone else. His style of play is a little riskier than some, but he breeds results.

The Packers are 5-2 and he's thrown multiple touchdowns in every start. Last week he threw 3 touchdowns and orchestrated a masterful last minute, game-winning, field goal drive. The Packers are now tied with the Vikings for 2nd in the division, and will battle it out with the Lions for 1st place in Week 9.

The Jaguars enter Week 8 desperate to keep this sinking ship afloat. They're currently 2-5 and coming home from a 3-week trip to London. Jacksonville is coming into this game after playing back to back games in London, recording their 2nd win of the year last week against the Patriots.

This game comes exactly 7 days after the Jaguars last game, with travel and jet lag, I can't imagine it'll be an easy week for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars schedule has been a gauntlet so far this year. Before back to back games in London, the Jaguars played back to back divisional games. Now they face the Packers in Week 8, followed by the Eagles, Vikings and finally the Lions.

It doesn't get any easier for the Jaguars, who won't get their bye-week till Week 12, the week after the face Detroit. It's a tough spot for a team to be, especially for a defense that's already struggled to stop opposing offenses.

The Jags are allowing the 2nd most passing yards per game, they rank 28th in completion percentage allowed (70.8%) and 30th in completions per game allowed. They've given up 23 or more completions to every opponent this year, outside of Deshaun Watson, who recorded 22 on 34 attempts.

Love's gone over this line just two times this year, once was last week and once was in Week 4 against the Vikings.

Over the last 3 weeks, the Jaguars have allowed opposing QBs to record 27 completions per game, and the completion percentage has jumped up to 74%. They've been bad but it seems like the could be getting worse.

Look for Green Bay to attack this poor Jaguars secondary with a healthy dose of deep passes, but a steady dose of short screen passes and short routes over the middle.

The Jordan Love and Tucker Kraft connection is developing right before our eyes and it's fantastic to see. Kraft has seen 22 targets over the last 4 weeks, he's caught 15 of those targets for 187 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In these 4 games, he's been targeted in the redzone 4 times, caught all 4 targets and he's recorded 3 touchdowns. In the 5 games Love has started this year, Kraft averages 5 targets per game for 44.8 yards and this week he gets the Jaguars defense.

Like I said, the Jaguars are terrible against the pass. They are currently tied for last in touchdowns allowed to tight ends (4), and the Jaguars have given up a league-worst, 16 passing touchdowns.

Jacksonville also ranks 26th in opponent 3rd down conversion rate, rank 29th in first downs allowed, and last in redzone conversion rate; allowing 78.3% of redzone opportunities to result in touchdowns.

Kraft should see plenty of opportunity to get into the endzone this week, so we're rolling with the value at (+190).
