While I'm not willing to bet on the Blue Jays just yet, I'm looking at their starting pitcher Chris Bassitt tonight. Bassitt began the year struggling, dropping 4 of his first 6 starts this season.
However, over his L5 games, he's 4-1 with a 2.48 ERA; striking out 29 batters in 29 innings of work. Tonight he faces off with his former team, the Oakland Athletics, and he's doing it in their last full season in Oakland.
Bassitt has struck out 7 pitchers in back to back games, only going 5 innings in each game. Tonight he gets one of the best matchups in the league.
The Athletics are currently striking out at a 27.1% rate and sport a 0.220 batting averaging against righties this year. All signs point to Bassitt tonight in his return to Oakland.
