NFL Preseason: Saturday's Predictions August 29

Folks, real football is right around the corner. Not only does the NCAA Football season kick off with Week 0 games this Saturday, we are less than two weeks away from the start of the NFL season. This is just preseason, there is no reason to nuke anything and destroy our bank roll right before the year begins.

Take a deep breath, and maybe ask yourself if betting these games are even worth it? If that answer is yes, check out our picks below to see if they line up with your own thoughts.

Best Bet: Detroit/Indianapolis Over 35.5 (-114) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Let's have some fun and root for points at Lucas Oil Stadium where we know neither team will be dealing with weather issues in the dome. Both teams are also looking to figure out their backup quarterback situation. Because of this, I think we see both offenses air it out more than normal, as they evaluate who will be the "next man up" on their roster this season. Look for the pigskin to be flying on Saturday in Indy.

The Lions have been good for a couple of touchdowns each week in the preseason, and while the Colt's offense isn't as encouraging, at home, against back up defenders, I have much more faith. Especially since the guys with the ball in their hand will be fighting for a roster spot. What could be more motivating to perform well?

Ultimately, neither coach will really care about winning this game, therefore we should see them being extra aggressive on offense going into the regular season. Give us points!

Chicago Bears vs. Tennessee Titans NFL Picks

Cam Ward and the Titans have looked surprisingly strong on offense this preseason - NFL Preseason Expert Picks

Cam Ward and the Titans have looked surprisingly strong on offense this preseason

Best Bet: Chicago/Tennessee Over 36.5 (-109) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Have no fear backing points at Nissan Stadium on Sunday Night to close out the NFL Preseason. Robert Salah has a very young Titans team following his lead, and he as indicated that he wants as many reps as possible prior to the regular season beginning. Therefore, expect plenty of Cam Ward, Carnell Tate and Gunner Helm in action in this preseason finale.

And even once those guys are done, Mitch Trubisky and Will Levis have plenty of NFL experience, and have the ability to score in the second half. Plus, I would imagine they are facing the Bears' defensive reserves, as Ben Johnson is likely to rest all of his first team players this weekend. However, the Bear's backups have been capable of scoring.

Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum and Miller Moss scored 34 points in their Week 1 preseason contest, so I've got plenty of faith in both sides putting up points. Give me a slight lean with the Titans to get the win, for locker room morale purposes.
