Analysis & Breakdown

Championship Hangover?
The Seattle Seahawks have lost back to back games, Sam Darnold's thrown as many touchdown passes as he has interceptions and their run game has been bad. Seattle was a top-10 running team last year and the success on the ground really helped open up the pass game.
This year the Seahawks are 18th in rush yards per game, 18th in rush yards per attempt and 25th in rush success rate. The team hasn't been able to get it going on the ground and big reason why is the guy they lost in the offseason; Kenneth Walker.
The Hawks used their 1st round pick on Jadarian Price and the plan was to use him and Zach Charbonet to fill the hole left by K9. Charbonet hasn't played a single snap this year and Price hasn't played since Week 3.
Defensively, the Hawks are still really good. The unit ranks 5th in points allowed, 1st in pass yards allowed and 1st in opponent yards per play. The defense doesn't give up big plays, they hit hard and they get off the field on 3rd down.
The Seahawks rank 3rd in opponent 3rd down conversion rate, 3rd in opponent first downs and 2nd in opponent explosive play rate. The only issue on this defense, is in the redzone.
The Seahawks rank 30th in opponent redzone efficiency, allowing opponents to convert 79% of their redzone trips in touchdowns. They just don't give up a ton of redzone opportunities.
Hatchet Season
The thing about Kansas City this year is, they score a lot of points. The Chiefs are 5th in points (28.0), 9th in pass yards and 1st in yards per play. The offense has the 2nd highest explosive play rate in the NFL and rank 1st in explosive run rate.
Kansas City ranks 1st rush yards, yards per carry, explosive run rate and it's all because Kenneth Walker. The Seahawks didn't pay Walker when they had a chance and now he's the MVP of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Outside of Walker, the Chiefs' offense has been rolling. Patrick Mahomes looks fantastic, averaging 261.8 pass yards per game with 9 touchdown passes, 3 interceptions and even a touchdown on the ground. He's got a passer rating of 103.5 and he's completing 66% of his passes.
Defensively the Chiefs are as good as they were last year. The team ranks 2nd in points allowed, 7th in rush yards allowed, 2nd in opponent redzone efficiency and they've forced the 2nd most turnovers.
The Chiefs are back.
Sunday Night's Best Bets

Walker returns to the city where he started his NFL career, to play the team that he just helped lead to a Super Bowl win. This feels like the perfect chance to make them regret their decision.
Walker leads the league in rush yards, explosive run rate, yards per carry, yards after contact and missed tackles forced. He's been the best RB in the league and by a wide margin.
Seattle's got a really stout run defense, ranking 10th in rush yards allowed, 2nd in explosive run rate allowed and 3rd in yards per carry allowed.
Despite all of that, I'm putting my money on K9 in a revenge spot.
