The Reds are down in Washington D.C for July 4th to take on the Nationals! This game starts bright and early this morning, but we still came up with our prediction and best bets for the contest!
As you can imagine, figuring out how this game will play out is a bit more difficult without a Reds starting pitcher. I am seeing reports of them tossing out Brett Kennedy, a 28 year old who only has a handful of games in the majors.
However, the Reds are still arguably one of the hottest teams in baseball. They are currently 17-4 in their last 21 games, and they have found a nice groove since Elly De La Cruz joined the scene.
Personally, I think our best bet in this one is to stick with team that's "Red-hot" and fade Patrick Corbin.
Corbin has allowed 7+ hits in all but 5 of his start this year. His ERA is nearly 5.00, and again, the Reds are crazy hot right now.
Cincinnati sits in 1st place of the NL Central, while the Nationals are bringing up the rear of the NL East.
I would prefer to wait for a confirmed starting pitcher to make these bets, however we roll with the punches.
Keeping it simple for this game, give me the Reds -1.5 at +140 odds.
