The Rangers are on top of the AL West, but lead the Astros by just a couple games.

The Red Sox are in a much different scenario. They are currently 5th in the AL East, but there is a silver lining. While they are 12 games out of 1st place in their division, the Red Sox have a 44-43 record.

This record would put them half a game behind the Minnesota Twins for 1st place in the AL Central.

The Red Sox are nowhere near a bad baseball team, they just play in a gauntlet of a division.

Rangers vs Red Sox Prediction & Best Bets

With the way Nathan Eovaldi has been pitching this season, it's tough to fade the Rangers when he's on the mound. Even with the Red Sox being at home, they are only 22-22 on the season. Texas travels well and boasts a 24-18 away record, 2nd in the American League to only the Astros who are 25 and 19.

I'll back the Rangers tonight to get the job done on the road. They lead their division for a reason, and they lead the MLB in plenty of batting statistics such as hits, runs, team average and OBP.

The Red Sox have been fairly streaky this year, and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. This could be the start of a bad skid for them, and I think the Rangers can take advantage.

Player Props

Nathan Eovaldi over 5.5 Ks (+116)

You can find Eovaldi's normal line at 4.5 with the over juiced to -150 or even -180 on some books. What I'll do, is go up one more strikeout for plus money.

In his return to Boston, it will not surprise me if Eovaldi has the game of his life.

He's cleared 6+ Ks in 9/17 starts this year, but he's had 5+ in 6 other games. Nearly every start, Eovaldi is going to come out and get close to this number. The Red Sox certainly don't strikeout a ton, but Eovaldi still averages 0.95 K/Inning, and has a 0.99 WHIP.

I think we see an Eovaldi masterclass tonight, and I'll take plus money for 6 striekouts from him.
