Padres vs Brewers, Odds & Picks: Brew Crew Completes the Sweep cover

mlb

The San Diego Padres are in Wisconsin taking on the Milwaukee Brewers in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.

The NL Central leading Brewers have already won two games in this series, extending their winning streak to seven games.

They are now 4 games ahead of Chicago for 1st place in the division, and seem to have a playoff spot all but locked up.

On the other side of things, the Padres season is done. They are 19 games back in the NL West and have nothing to play for other than pride at this point.

Let’s breakdown tonight’s matchup!

Padres vs Brewers Game Information

In San Diego in the middle of April, the Brewers took 3 of 4 from the Padres at PETCO Park.

The Brewers win game 2 of that series 11-2, facing Padres pitcher, Michael Wacha, whom they get to see on the bump tonight.

Overall, the Brewers lead the season series 5-1 over the Padres and are outscoring them 31-22 in those games.

Tonight the Padres will try to get at least one win back as they face off in Milwaukee.

Brewers vs Padres Best Bets

While Wacha is 10-2 on the year, he does struggle significantly more on the road than at home.

His ERA, WHIP and Opponent’s Average all increase, while his K/Inning decreases away from PETCO.

In his one start against the Brewers this year, Wacha allowed 7 ER on 11 hits in just 4.1 innings. He allowed 2 home runs, walked a batter, and struck out 3 hitters.

I could see him getting shelled again tonight against a Brewers team that is hungry and ready for a post season run.

Christian Yelich has fantastic numbers against Wacha, and I think he takes advantage of it today.

For starters, Yelich bats .305 against righties, knocking 27/30 doubles and 13/16 home runs off such pitchers.

Against Wacha specifically, Yelich is 6/18 batting .333 with 2 singles, 2 doubles, and 2 home runs. He also has 4 RBIs.

Yelich hasn’t faired well against the Padres as a whole, but he did hit a HR of Wacha back in April.

He’s hit this line in 17/L30 home games, so for +120, I’m willing to bet on him to keep it going today.
