We have a battle of Southern California tonight as the Los Angeles Angels travel closer to the border to take on the San Diego Padres. Tonight is game one of a three game series, and we are in for a treat with this one.
We've sorted through the odds and came up with our expert prediction and best bets on tonights game!
The Padres look to be throwing out Blake Snell who is pitching incredibly well in recent starts.
Will he be able to keep it up today at home? Or will the Angels bats come alive in San Diego?

Padres vs Angels Preview
These two stadiums are only 95 miles apart, yet these two teams rarely see action against one another. The teams played two two-game series back in 2021 where they split each time. We even had Snell pitch in one of those games.
Snell went 7 innings and only allowed 2 earned runs on two walks and one hit. He also struck out 11 batters. Unfortunately, he did not get any run support, and the Angels won 4-0 in San Diego.
Both squads are not performing up to the level that they would have hoped. The Padres are currently 4th in the NL West, nearly 8 games behind the 3rd place Giants. San Diego needs to turn some things around quickly if they want a shot at the playoffs.
The Angels have been more competitive in their division. They are 3rd in the AL West, just 6 games behind the division leading Rangers.
This is a critical game for both teams tonight.

I am going right back to Blake Snell and I am ready to get hurt again. Personally, I'm not going to put my money on the Padres to win this game, even though I think they do.
They've burned me plenty this year, and for now I'll just stick with. few player props.
For fun though, my prediction?
Padres win 5-2 barely staying under.
Player Props
Blake Snell over 7.5 Ks (-105)
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Snell has had double digit strikeouts in 4 straight starts, pitching 6 innings in almost every game. He doesn't need much time to line guys up and sit them back down.
Snell averages 1.31 Ks/Inning putting him in the 91st percentile of the league. The Angels don't strikeout a ton against lefties, however Snell has flipped a switch and is pitching out of his mind.
He's cleared this line in 5 straight games, and at home he has had at least 5 Ks every start.
In front of his home town crowd, I love Snell to continue his dominant play here.
Eight strikeouts is asking a lot, but if anyone can make it happen it's Snell.
Xander Bogaerts Over 1.5 Bases (+150)
This is just a gut play here.
Xander bats .245 off of righties this year, and he has history against Barria.
In 5 plate appearances, Bogaerts bats .500 with two doubles and a walk. Obviously a very small sample size, but he's clearly made good contact off this guy before.
For plus money, I'll take a stab at Bogaerts knocking another double.
