Tampa Bay Rays vs Milwaukee Brewers Predictions

Logan Henderson has 10 wins for the Brewers this year. Can he add another tonight on the road? MLB Expert Picks

The Brew Crew took Game 1 last nigh by a 3-2 counts. Christian Yelich started things off with a first inning Triple to plate Jackson Chourio. William Contreras followed with an RBI single to score Yelich and Milwaukee got off to an early 2-0 lead. The Brewers took a 3-1 lead into the 9th inning but things got very interesting. A botched double play by Milwaukee (which had to be reviewed) led to a Tampa run before closer Trevor McGill could shut the door.

Tampa Bay Rays vs Milwaukee Brewers Picks

Rays vs. Rangers (May 30): Rasmussen to finish fantastic month with fifth win?

Best Bet: Tampa Bay Rays +112 Lucky Rebel

I mentioned in yesterday's piece I was surprised at Kevin Cash opting for Nick Martinez. That decision cost him early as the Brewers quickly put up 2 runs in the 1st inning. Due to that, however, the Rays are in a great spot to take Game 2. Rasmussen has had a fantastic season as he went 16-5 with an ERA of 2.67 on a WHIP of .091 and an opponent batting average of .199. The Tampa Bay Ace was just as good, or even better, on the road where he went 9-1 with an ERA of 2.90 on a WHIP of 1.04. In this postseason thus far Rasmussen has shined as he is 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA on a sparkling 0.76 WHIP. He went 7 innings in his lone road start, allowing 1 run on only 4 hits.

Milwaukee used their top 3 relievers last night as Megill, Ashby and Uribe all saw action while Tampa's big arms did not enter the game, which is a major plus for the Rays as they are better equipped to shorten this game. Tampa has won 14 of Rasmussen's last 15 starts and the Rays are 10-0 when he pitches after a Tampa Bay loss. Tampa holds the value tonight and I like them to tie up the series.

Best Bet: Tampa Bay Rays vs Milwaukee Brewers 1st 3 Innings Under 1.5 +114 Lucky Rebel

I gave you insight on Drew Rasmussen above, so let's look at Milwaukee starter Logan Henderson. The right hander had a fantastic season going 11-3 with an ERA of 2.47 on a WHIP of 0.84 on and opponent batting average of .183. At home, Logan went 6-0 with an ERA of 1.84 on a WHIP of 0.77. He has given up 3 earned runs in 9 innings thus far in the playoffs, that along with a long layoff is a concern for sure but I'll still go with high risk/high reward wager that we have a very quiet 1st trip trough the lineups for each of these starters.
