Dodgers vs Padres Season Series

Like I said, the season series is all Dodgers. However, each game has been somewhat competitive.

The lone Padres win was a 5-2 victory at home, but the next day the Dodgers won 2-1.

San Diego was leading 2-1 going into the 9th in the third matchup, but gave up a run in the 9th, and the Dodgers forced extras. Los Angeles scored 3 in the top of the 10th and won the game 5-2.

After just one series in between, the Padres traveled to Dodger Stadium and promptly were swept by Los Angeles.

The Dodgers won the first two of this series 4-2, and then shutout the Padres 4-0 in the finale.

Tonight at home, the Padres look to get back on track.

Darvish pitched well against the Dodgers in their first meeting, and quite frankly, he fairs well against this team historically.

He went 6.2 innings while only giving up 1 ER on 4 hits. He struck out 6 in the Padres lone win against the Dodgers.

Darvish had 9 strikeouts in his last start, but the Dodgers’ offense has been great lately. Last series against the A’s, Los Angeles scored 7, 10, and 8 runs in that game.

I don’t trust Yu to have another good start against the Dodgers, and although the Padres have won 6 of their last 8, I think the LA is establishing themselves as a real Championship contender.
