The Crosstown Classic begins today as the White Sox host the Cubs at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The White Sox sit in 4th in the AL Central at 41-60, and they're on a three game losing streak currently. They're 3-6 since the All Star Break, and they're likely not playing for much the rest of this season.
The Cubs are 3rd in the NL Central, and they need to catch some steam if they want to make the Playoffs. At 48-51, the Cubs sit 5 games back from the Reds in the Wild Card, but there's a much bigger problem.
The Cubs are essentially the 6th team fighting for two spots. And the five teams ahead of them are separated by half a game.
To say the Cubs have some ground work to cover would be an understatement.

Crosstown Classic Prediction & Best Bets
This is the first meeting between these squads, but they face off again in Wrigley in a few weeks.
I'm not saying the Cubs are going to absolutely demolish the White Sox tonight, but let's just say it wouldn't necessarily surprise me.
The White Sox have been abysmal this year, and are 23rd in runs per game and runs allowed. They're second to last in OBP, and the only bright spot is they lead the league in Team Ks per nine innings.
Other than that, not too much for Sox fans to be excited about.
I really like the Cubs tonight, and think they "Big Brother" the White Sox on their own turf.
I'll be "laddering" the runline tonight.

Cody Bellinger over 1.5 Bases (+120)
This man is a walking flamethrower. Seriously, since the All Star Break, he's been incredible.
In 10 games since the break, Bellinger has 17 hits, 34 total bases, 5 Home Runs, and 15 RBIs.
He's cleared 2+ bases in 8 of his last 10 games, and 12 of his last 16. Bellinger is currently on a 7 game hitting streak as well.
He bats .302 off of righties this season, and 11 of his 15 double have come against RHP. Bellinger is 0/2 in his career against Kopech, but I think he gets to him tonight.
For a guy that's cleared in three straight, I'll take this price for Bellinger Bases all day.
