The Chicago Cubs are out in sunny San Diego taking on the Padres for a three games series starting this week. The visitors find themselves on top of the NL Central almost 20 games into the season and the Padres are in the same boat in the West. Both teams sit on top of their divisions at the moment, with the Cubs at 11-7 and San Diego posting a 13-3 record early in the year.

The hosts also find themselves on a four game winning streak after sweeping the Rockies and taking two of three from the Athletics out in Sacramento. In fact, the Padres have allowed just 1 run in their past four games, and didn't allow Colorado to cross the plate once when they came to town. However in Chicago earlier this season, the Padres only won the third game of the series to avoid the sweep. But that was after starting off the season 7-0. Will things be any different at home?

The Cubbies just stole two of three from the Dodgers out in LA, laying the beat down in the second game, winning 16-0. Chicago is the only team in the MLB that has scored 100+ runs this year, scoring 116 already in their 18 games. But tonight Dylan Cease is on the mound and looking to keep San Diego's winning ways alive.

Kyle Tucker has been a huge contributor for the Cubs since signing. This season he is hitting .324 with 5 Home Runs and 18 RBIs, leading the team in all of those categories. He faces a familiar foe tonight as Dylan Cease is on the mound, and he is coming off a bad outing.

Cease got lit up in Sacramento in his last start, giving up 9 runs on 9 hits in just four innings. He's a bit of a two trick pony, as he throws his slider or fastball over 77% of the time. Three out of every four pitches is going to be a fast slider or a four seam which makes it easier on hitters. Now, Tucker has great history as well against Cease.

For starters, he has a great matchup rating on batters-box.com (Do NOT Forget the Hyphen), as well as an elite fastball matchup rating. He's faced Cease 12 times, going 5/11 for a .455 average with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and just 2 strikeouts, along with a walk. His .324 average jumps to .347 when facing RHP, and even up to .367 in 41 at bats on the road this season. Tucker is seeing the ball well with four hits in his last three games, including hits in 7 of his last 8. Tucker has cleared his HRR number in 12/18 games this year, and in 12/13 with a hit.

If the guy gets a hit, he usually knocks someone else in while doing so, or comes around the bases himself. Tonight on the road against Cease, I think the Cubs put up some runs and I expect Tucker to be involved.
