It was a sloppy night all around for the Halos (7-6), who lost despite outhitting the Sox 11-5 because they committed three errors, issued six walks, hit two batters, and had a wild pitch in addition to the passed ball.

Will We See a Saturday Slugfest at Fenway?

Last night's game between the Angels and Red Sox went under, thanks in part to the visitors squandering an 11-hit night by going 1 of 14 with runners in scoring position.

The Angels enter today 27th in MLB in batting average with RISP (.221), which isn't encouraging for their matchup with Pivetta.

There's only so much you can take from two starts, but through his two starts this season, opposing hitters are 1 for 13 (.077) with runners on and 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position.

Boston didn't thrive in that department last night either, going 1 for 12 with RISP to drop their average for the season from .279 to .259. Like Pivetta, Anderson has yet to allow a hit with runners in scoring position this season, with opposing batters going 0 for 6 against him in that scenario.

All that said, overs have been the more frequent feature of Red Sox games thus far, with the over sporting a 9-5-0 record in their first 14 games. And with the firepower that both teams have at the plate, runs could easily pile up in a hurry in this one.

In Pivetta's first two starts, only six combined runs were scored, and while Anderson didn't have a great outing last time out against the Blue Jays at home, he has gotten better about not having consecutive bad starts. Look for solid starting pitching to pave the way for the under.
