Best NCAA Basketball Picks and Predictions February 28
#11 Virginia vs. #1 Duke NCAA Basketball Picks

Back Virginia to be able to compete against the Blue Devils on the road and keep this game competitive
Best Bet: Virginia +10.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
This is too many points, especially in what should be a slower game. The Cavaliers have lost just three games all year long, and I believe they can matchup well and slow down Cameron Boozer. We've seen the Blue Devils start off very cold at home this year, and the visitors will be more than willing to chew some clock and limit their host's possessions.
The Cavaliers are top 15 in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency and rank fourth in opponent eFG%. They pride themselves on playing great defense, and with Duke having a couple of tough matchups looming over the horizon, they could be less focused than they need to be at home.
#24 Louisville vs. Clemson NCAA Basketball Picks
Best Bet: Clemson +1.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
I don't hate the moneyline either as the Tigers need a win, badly. They have lost four straight and look lost overall, but this is a perfect bounce back spot at home. Louisville is very reliant on the three, something the Tigers defend well, plus the Cardinals are MUCH worse away from home. Their team eFG% drops over 5% when they go on the road, and they panic when they have to play slow.
Clemson will limit the offensive chances for a team that usually needs some extra time to get going from downtown in unfamiliar gyms, and I trust their defense to last all game. The Cardinals shoot just 33% from deep away from home, but those shots still account for over 53% of their offense. As for the Tigers' perimeter defense, they are top 15 in the country in opponent 3P% at home, holding teams to just 27.5% from deep. Also worth noting, Louisville cannot get to the stripe on the road, ranking No. 290 in FT Rate offense.
#25 Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky NCAA Basketball Picks

Vanderbilt is hanging on to their top 25 ranking, but have a tough one at Rupp Arena
Best Bet: Vanderbilt/Kentucky Over 155.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
Both teams love to run, neither like to play defense, and the offenses shoot the ball very well. End of discussion. The Commodores shoot a ton of threes, do so at over a 36% clip, even on the road, but they are terrible at keeping their hands to themselves. This should result in plenty of trips to the free throw line for the Wildcats, generating points with the clock stopped.
I expect the Wildcats to push the pace, as their best shot at beating this Commodores team is trying to outscore them, rather than limit them defensively. The Wildcats just aren't that good on that side of the floor.
#14 Kansas vs. #2 Arizona NCAA Basketball Picks
Best Bet: Kansas Team Total Over 70.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
I am still waiting for this line to drop, but think the Jayhawks are capable of putting up 75 points at least. They scored 82 on the Wildcats without Darryn Peterson in their first meeting, and I expect plenty of possessions given the Wildcats pace at home. Arizona fouls plenty, and the Jayhawks shoot over 77% from the stripe as a team.
Arizona just have up 80 to a bad Baylor Bears team, and now face a much tougher Jayhawks offense with the Cyclones coming to town on Monday. This is a bad spot for the Wildcats.
#16 Texas Tech vs. #4 Iowa State NCAA Basketball Picks

Tamin Lipsey and Killyan Toure will contain Christian Anderson and the Red Raiders at Hilton this Saturday
Best Bet: Texas Tech Team Total Under 68.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
Like the Jayhawks team total, I am still waiting for this line to come out. However, I'd play it down to 66.5. The Cyclones are top 10 in scoring defense overall, and points per game allowed at home as well. This team is 15-0 in Hilton Coliseum for a reason, and I do not see the Red Raiders putting up a fight without JT Toppin.
There will be so much pressure on Christian Anderson and Donovan Atwell to do it all, and the Cyclones clearly have the guards to harass them on defense. I expect Otzelberger's defense to come ready to roll and win this game for the hosts.
#17 Alabama vs. #25 Tennessee NCAA Basketball Picks
Best Bet: Alabama +5.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
I am hoping this line continues to tick up, so I have not booked this at the time of this writing. However, once it gets to 7.5 I will pounce (and I will end up betting the 5.5 if this does not move). The Crimson Tide shoot the ball well, even away from home, and the Volunteers are bottom 30 in defensive 3P Rate. I expect Alabama to take at least 40 threes on Saturday in Knoxville, and eventually they are going to knock them down.
Virginia Tech vs. #18 North Carolina NCAA Basketball Picks

Henri Veesaar and the Tar Heels are still undefeated at home
Best Bet: North Carolina -6.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
I believe this number is already starting to move up, so I'd recommend getting it before it crosses the three possession threshold. North Carolina is simply much more dominant than the Hokies, and looking at most advanced analytic sites, they have them winning by eight or nine points. I'll trust the numbers (and my eyes) and back the Tar Heels at home.
They need to finish strong and make a case for the top four seed, so Hubert Davis will make sure his team is focused until the very end.
