The College Hoops offseason is nearly as exciting as the real deal with all of the movement thanks to the NIL era. Not only are coaches changing teams constantly, so are the players. It almost seems as if the real news is that a guy is staying with his team, rather than entering the portal, as it's estimated that over 90% of college hoops athletes will test the waters this offseason. Let's take a look at some of the biggest NCAA Basketball names in the portal, check out those who have already signed, and see where the big dawgs might end up playing next year.
College Hoops Transfer Portal Update
Let's start by looking at some of the biggest names in the portal already.

Flory Bidunga was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year
Flory Bidunga
The Jayhawks' big man is leaving Kansas this season. He dabbled in departing Lawrence last offseason, but eventually returned to the Jayhawks where he put up 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game as a sophomore. Now he is seeking a reported $4 million (or more) to go play college hoops somewhere else.
Someone call Jon Scheyer, cause my guess is Bidunga becomes a Blue Devil next year.
John Blackwell
After three seasons at Wisconsin, the past two as a starter, Blackwell will be playing his senior season elsewhere. He was a double digit scorer for the Badgers the past two years, averaging 19.1 points and 5.1 rebounds on 39.1% shooting from deep this past season. Blackwell has been linked to both Duke and Illinois, and will be the most sought after guard in this year's portal.

Robert Wright is looking to play for his third college team in just three years
Robert Wright III
Wright began his career at Baylor, averaging 11.5 points and 4.2 assists as a true freshman. He then made the move to BYU where he produced 18.1 points and 4.6 assists, shooting over 41% from beyond the arc. Now, Wright is going to his third school in three years, and will definitely be a high priority transfer.
The point guard can facilitate the offense while also getting tough buckets whenever his team needs.
PJ Haggerty
Haggerty is on the road again, but that's nothing new. If he signs away from Kansas State, he will be playing for his… *checks notes*… fifth school in five years. Haggerty started every game the past three years for Tulsa, Memphis, and finally Kansas State, scoring 21+ points per game in each of those seasons. This year, he ranked third in the country in scoring, but simply did not have enough help around him in Manhattan.
Massamba Diop
As a freshman at Arizona State, Diop put up 13.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks for the Sun Devils on nearly 57% shooting. He started all 33 games, and now with Randy Bennett taking over in Tempe for Bobby Hurley, Diop is hitting the portal.
The seven footer from Senegal is the second best big man in he portal, behind Bidunga, and should sign for north of $2 million wherever he lands.
Other Major Names in the NCAA Basketball Transfer Portal

David Punch put up 14.1 points per game on 50.3% shooting with 6.8 rebounds for the Horned Frogs last year
Players listed with their former school in parentheses.
- David Punch (TCU)
- Paulis Murauskas (Saint Mary's)
- Aiden Sherrell (Alabama)
- Moustapha Thiam (Cincinnati)
- Isaiah Johnson (Colorado)
- Markus Burton (Notre Dame)
- Nicholas Khamenia (Duke)
- Bryson Tiller (Kansas)
NCAA Basketball Transfer Portal Moves
Finally, let's look at who has already signed elsewhere.

Miles Byrd is headed from San Diego State to Providence to join the Friars
Miles Byrd
Miles Byrd will use his last season of eligibility to help take the Providence Friars to new heights. After four years at San Diego State, the Aztecs guard is a major signing for new head coach Bryan Hodgson in Rhode Island. Byrd averaged double digit points as a starter the past two years for the Aztecs, adding over four boards and nearly three assists as well.
Can he help Hodgson take the Friars back to the top of the Big East?
Jackson Shelstad
The former Oregon Duck has not officially signed with Louisville, but everything points to this kid being a Cardinal next year. Shelstad averaged double digits in his past three years as a starter at Oregon, but only played 12 games this past year before being injured in December. He upped his game as a distributor this past year, jumping from averaging 2.7 assists to producing 4.9 for the Ducks. Will he be able to do the same in Pat Kelsey's fast paced offense?
JP Estrella
The Volunteers big man is headed north as he signed with Dusty May and the Michigan Wolverines. Estrella averaged 10 points and 5.4 boards for Tennessee this past year and now hopes to help Michigan defend their National Championship.
Collin Chandler
The Kentucky sharpshooter is most likely headed to BYU next season. He shot over 40% from deep for Kentucky in an increased role this season, and will fill the role that Richie Saunders played with the Cougars.

Denzel Aberdeen is heading back to Florida to team up Todd Golden
Denzel Aberdeen
Denzel Aberdeen helped win a National Title with Florida in 2025 before moving to SEC rival Kentucky. Now it looks like he will be back in Gainesville with Todd Golden next year. Aberdeen spent his first three years with Florida, playing 20 minutes off the bench during their championship run before becoming a starter for the Wildcats. He put up 13.5 points per game and 3.4 assists, and should start for the Gators next season.
