The Cardinals have already lost this series, losing their previous two games to the Pirates. St. Louis has also lost 4 of their L5, and have not been able to string two wins together since May 20th.

To say they are in a slump would be an understatement. The Cardinals bats still break the Top 10 in most offensive categories, while their pitching does need a little bit of work.

The Pirates offense is nothing too spectacular, but they are on a four game win streak. They also lead the Cardinals in the season series 4-2.

St. Louis will definitely want to turn things around today before heading to Texas for a three game series against the Rangers.

Cardinals vs Pirates Best Bets

Rich Hill over 5.5 Hits Allowed (-105) Caesar’s

As mentioned, this Cardinals team ranks very high in offensive categories. Rich Hill has allowed at least 6 hits in 7/11 starts this year. He also has starts with 5, 4, and 3 hits allowed.

Now, the Pirates are at home today, but in PNC Park, Hill still allows 6.33 hits per game at home, clearing this line in 4/6 home starts.

Hill is coming off a road start in San Francisco where he gave up 9 hits in just 6 innings pitched. I think the Cardinals bats should have no problem spreading the ball around the field today.
