David Peterson starts for the New York Mets tonight
We are all tied up at one game a piece in this series, but the Mets are leading 4-1 overall this season between the NL East teams. New York swept the Phillies when they came to town in late April and beat them last night 11-4. However, Philadelphia finally beat the Mets on Friday Night, winning 10-2 at home.
Tonight they settle the series and their tie in the division. These teams are both 46-31 on the season, with the winner of this matchup going up a game in the division on the loser.

Pitching Matchup
New York Mets: David Peterson (5-2, 2.60 ERA, 1.19 WHIP)
Philadelphia Phillies: Jesus Luzardo (6-3, 4.41 ERA, 1.43 WHIP)
Both teams are starting lefties on the mound tonight, and both are having decent seasons. Unfortunately for New York, the Phillies hit left handed pitchers much better than they do.
The Phillies hit .257 overall and an incredible .274 at home this season. However against LHP, the team hits .261 and has a .738 OPS. As for the Mets, they hit just .246 overall with that dropping to .238 against lefties. They also drop a couple points on the road as well. New York had lost seven straight prior to beating the Phillies last night, but I think they might go back to their losing ways.
We've got a fairly high total for Sunday Night Baseball, considering the unders train it's been on all season. However I trust the Phillies bats tonight.
David Peterson has allowed 3 earned runs in his last two starts away from home, and his ERA increases to 3.08 on the road. His WHIP also increases to 1.24, but he's seen this Phillies team before. Back in April, Philadelphia scored two runs on eight hits in just 5.1 innings off of Peterson, but the Mets ended up winning the game.
As for Jesus Luzardo, the man has been lights out at home, aside from one outlier. He allowed 12 earned runs on 12 hits and 3 walks to the Brewers four starts ago, but check out his stats in his home starts otherwise. Excluding that one game against Milwaukee, Luzardo has pitched 37.2 innings, allowing 8 earned runs on 34 hits and 7 walks. That's good for a 1.93 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP at home, again, excluding his one bad start against Milwaukee. He did not pitch against the Mets earlier this year, and faces them for the first time as a Phillie tonight.
I think he shoves and regardless, he should get plenty of run support, enough to win this game.
