We've got a smaller slate of baseball on Thursday, but still enough to get some action on the board.

Let's dive into my MLB best bets for Thursday, May 28.

MLB Best Bets for Thursday, May 28

Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are on a quest to take three of four games from their division rival, Minnesota Twins, on Thursday afternoon.

They've got a solid arm taking the bump to guide them in the right direction, and that is right-hander Davis Martin. He's been stellar this season, as he's 7-1 through 10 starts, has a 2.04 ERA, 2.84 xFIP and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 22.4%. There isn't much to dislike about Martin at the moment.

Meanwhile, the Twins will be starting Kendry Rojas, a 23-year-old rookie left-hander, that has five appearances and 14.1 total innings pitched so far.

This will be the second start for the southpaw. His first came a couple outings ago against Houston, where he lasted four innings, gave up just two hits and no runs. Overall, his ERA sits at 1.26, but the worries reside in his xFIP, which is at 4.69 and his SIERA, which shows 4.74.

The White Sox have been dominating against left-handed pitching over the past month, ranking second in wOBA (.370) and third in both wRC+ (135) and OPS (.834).

The Twins' bats have been mundane for most of the year, and I expect the same to persist this afternoon. Don't overthink this one – the White Sox are the better club today.

Bet: White Sox Run Line -1.5 (+140)

Toronto Blue Jays vs Baltimore Orioles

Chris Bassitt's splits are tremendous at home this year for Baltimore - Orioles Tigers Picks

The Orioles just handed the Tampa Bay Rays a three-game sweep and look to keep the flames alive when they welcome the Toronto Blue Jays to Baltimore.

The Blue Jays are feeling strong about themselves as well, following back-to-back wins against the Marlins in their previous series.

What stands out the most in today's pitching matchup is the home-and-road splits.

Chris Bassitt is starting for the Orioles, and at home he has a 3.46 ERA, .307 wOBA and a 2.41 FIP. However, on the road, those numbers take a massive dive to an 8.02 ERA, .435 wOBA and a 6.77 FIP.

Veteran left-hander Patrick Corbin will be starting for Toronto, and while his splits aren't as egregious as his adversary's, his overall numbers still display some concern. His 3.86 ERA may not lead you to believe that, but his 5.36 expected ERA, 4.26 xFIP, 4.41 SIERA and 43.3% hard-hit rate certainly do.

I'm not a big believer in Patrick Corbin, and it feels like we're getting a fairly affordable price to fade him tonight, which I'll gladly take a piece of.

Bet: Orioles Moneyline (-126)
