This evening, the Orioles right fielder is our target, Mr. Ramon Laureano, who has been playing phenomenal baseball this season. Today, he holds the highest rating on Batters-Box current season rankings. When rated elite this season, Laureano has delivered. In 11 elite-rated games, he has recorded a hit 81% of the time, two hits 54%, gone over this prop 72%, and hit a home run in 27% of those games.
Holmes vs. Laureano
He faces Mets starter Clay Holmes, who brings a poorly-rated matchup in terms of ISO and hard contact allowed to average hitters. On the road this season, right-handed bats are hitting .267 against him. His arsenal is average across the board. The fastball is his best pitch, but he only throws it 7% of the time. He leans heavily on the sinker at 38% and the slider at 33%, which happen to be his two worst pitches.
Laureano is batting .410 with a 1.030 OPS and 198 wRC+ against sinkers this season. Against sliders, he is hitting .237 with an .872 OPS, 151 wRC+, and a 60% hard hit rate.
At +160 for a guy who has been crushing right-handed arms at home, batting .339 with a 1.044 OPS and 192 wRC+, this is a steal. I think the 30-year-old comes out fresh after a day off and keeps his two-game hitting streak alive.
