After inclement weather forced a postponement yesterday, the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees will meet this afternoon in Game 2 of their ALDS matchup.

After a 4-1 win in Game 1, the AL East champions would have been hoping to have a 2-0 lead and a day off before resuming the series in Cleveland on Saturday. They did indeed get a day off, but instead of having a day between Games 1 and 2 and between Games 2 and 3, there will be a quick turnaround from today's matchup at Yankee Stadium and a Game 3 tomorrow night at Progressive Field.

Home runs were key in Game 1, with a solo blast by Steven Kwan providing Cleveland's lone run and Harrison Bader and Anthony Rizzo going deep for the Bronx Bombers to help make a winner out of Gerrit Cole.

Will we see more long balls in today's tilt? Runs are likely to be at a premium again with two hot hurlers on the hill.

In the regular season, Cortes allowed more than two runs only seven times in 28 starts, including three times in 15 home starts.

The 27-year-old lefty was 6-1 with a 1.95 ERA at home and 6-0 with a 1.82 ERA in 12 daytime starts in the regular season, and since picking up his most recent loss on August 16 against the Rays, Cortes is 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA in six starts.

Those are all outstanding numbers, but his opposite number has been pretty good recently too. Bieber, who allowed one run, three hits, and one walk and struck out eight in 7.2 innings in the opener of Cleveland's Wild Card series against the Rays, is 6-0 with a 1.62 ERA in his last seven road starts.

The Yankees have been formidable at home all season long, but I like the Guardians to take a split back to Cleveland behind another big effort by Bieber.
