Brent Rooker hits .276 for the Athletics this season
This is the first of two meetings between these ball clubs, as they face off in Sacramento in September. The Athletics bring up the rear of the AL West, 13 games behind first place and 7.5 behind the Texas Rangers who are in fourth. Things need to turn around for the A's.
Kansas City is in a tight race for the second spot in the AL Central. The Detroit Tigers lead the Minnesota Twins by eight games, but the Royals are only 2.5 games behind them, with the Cleveland Guardians in between.
Both teams are desperate for a win tonight as they begin this series.

Yes, yes. Although my MLB System hasn't been doing too well this year, I still am a man of faith. We will go right back to the Royals ML, RL, and Team Total, hoping to snag all three tonight before hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers in two weeks.
Here we go again. If I recommend just one bet tonight, it's the Royals Team Total, but I will be on the ML and RL as well. Kansas City is 19-16 at home and their team batting average improves against RHP. Luis Severino has been getting blown up recently, and I see that continuing tonight.
In his last two outings, Severino has allowed 14 runs (13 earned) on 17 hits in just 11.1 innings. He's walked five batters and allowed two home runs as well. The Athletics have lost six straight games in which Severino started and 10/14 overall. Multiple Royals hitters see their average increase against right handed pitchers, and they are coming off getting swept by the Yankees. They need to pull it together for their home fans.
Michael Wacha's 3.01 ERA ranks 25th in MLB, and it drops to 1.80 at Kauffman Stadium this year. His 1.17 WHIP decreases to 1.03 as well, making him an unstoppable force on the mound in Kansas City. The Athletics' team average drops 14 points to .240 on the road this season, and they are having their worst hitting month of the season in June. I expect the Royals to come away with an easy win tonight.
