Angels vs. Braves: The Angels have quietly become elite at turning two, and tonight presents a perfect matchup to target that strength. Atlanta's lineup is trending in the wrong direction with ground balls, and Jose Soriano is exactly the type of pitcher who can take advantage. All signs point to another double play opportunity in this spot.

Yup, that is right. We are going back to the Angels to turn a double play.
If you have not heard, Los Angeles is one of the best teams in baseball at turning two—averaging 1.07 double plays per game and 1.33 on the road. Both marks rank first in the league.
Tonight, they face a Braves lineup that has struggled with ground balls over the last few weeks. Atlanta ranks 10th-worst in ground ball percentage over the past 14 days and 14th-worst over the last seven. According to Batters-Box, nine Braves hitters sit above the league average in ground ball rate heading into this matchup.
On the mound, Angels starter Jose Soriano brings a 65% ground ball rate and averages 11.17 ground balls per outing. He has not been sharp on the road—allowing 5.5 hits and 2.5 walks per start—but that is fine. We just need bodies on the base path.
This is a great price for a fun sweat. A ground ball-heavy lineup going up against the best double play team in baseball? Just have to pay a little juice.
