The New York Liberty head home down 2-0 in the WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces. This is the biggest game in Liberty history as they must win to stay alive. This is the first time New York has faced elimination these playoffs.
Vegas has completely dominated the first 2 games of the finals, winning by 17 and 28 points. It has been all Aces so far. The only time the Liberty showed up was the first half of Game 1. They led at halftime by 3 points and haven’t been able to get back to a lead since.
In Game 2, the Aces did exactly what they needed to do and that was get everyone involved. I had said in my Game 2 article that if Vegas was going to keep that same pace, everyone would need to show up. Two specific players are Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum.
Both ladies had 20+ points in Game 1 and did the same thing in Game 2. A’Ja Wilson continued her normal play with 26 points and 15 rounds in Game 2. Chelsea Grays’ moving the ball around with 11 assists last game which is allowing the open looks for her teammates.
For the Liberty, they need everyone to step up and it just hasn’t been happening. Jonquel Jones continued her double-double streak and Breanna Stewart also had one. But Sabrina Ionescu and Courtney Vandersloot have not been there offensively.
If everyone came to play in Game 1, the Liberty had a chance at winning. Game 2 though, they were out played all together. The Aces out shot them shooting 53% vs the Libertys 36%. Vegas also capitalized on their fast break opportunities getting 11 points vs New Yorks 3 points.
The big 4 in New York really need to figure it out and better or their season ends tomorrow. They went out a made all these big times moves and acquisitions and it wasn’t to be swept out of the finals. These ladies need to pull out all the tricks to stay alive.

Las Vegas Aces vs New York Liberty Prediction and Picks
Prediction and Pick: Game Total O171.5 (-111)
It’s been an interesting series and not the outcomes I expected. I can’t figure out who wins this game, so I can’t take an official side. My heart says New York, but my brain says Vegas, so take that for what it is worth.
One thing that has been consistent though, both teams have been putting up points. This is the exact same line as last game, and that total was 180 points. Both teams are offensive powerhouses and plenty of points will be scored.
Based on the close line and lower team totals, the books expect this game to be low scoring. Both teams are going to have to put up big numbers to get the job done. I think we see another high scoring game like the first 2.
Player Prop: Jackie Young O5.5 Rebounds (-106)
Young has been playing like an absolute beast and playing all around ball. One thing she’s been doing extremely well is cleaning the glass.
She’s cleared this line in her last 4 out of 5 games. She’s had 8, 7, 9, and 10 in those 4 games, which for a guard, are crazy numbers. Young has been finding her way under the basket to nab these rebounds.
I really like the way she has been playing and like mentioned before, the Aces need her to continue her play of the last 2 games for them to have the edge on the Liberty.
I think if she can keep doing what she’s been doing, she’ll get her boards while keep the Liberty guards in check.
