WNBA Finals Game 2: New York Liberty vs Las Vegas Aces Prediction, Odds & Best Bets

Back to the desert for Game 2 of the WNBA Finals. The Las Vegas Aces took Game 1 vs the New York Liberty by a score of 99-82. New York will be looking for the equalizer and go back home with the series tied 1-1.

Our reads for Game 1 were completely off. The game was extremely interesting from the 1st half to the 2nd half. The Liberty led the end of the 1st half by 3 points and then were outscored by 20 points in the 2nd half.

Role players were the key to this win for Las Vegas. Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum put up 26 points and 5 rebounds each. Young has hit 5 3's as well.

A'ja Wilson had 19 points and 8 rebounds while Chelsea Gray put up 20 points and had 9 assists. This type of team play is what got them the win when they had that 2nd half explosion.

Good shooting was the other reason the Aces pulled ahead in the 2nd half. Plum shot over 50% and Wilson and Young both shot over 60%! This kind of play is going to win you games.

Since we're talking about shooting, let's move over and talk about the Liberty. They shot 46% from the field and 31% from 3-point range. New York struggled from the Free Throw line, shooting 69%.

Breanna Stewart brought her normal game with 21 point and 9 rebounds. Jonquel Jones also put up her normal numbers with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She extended her double-double streak to 7 games.

Sabrina Ionescu and Courtney Vandersloot both struggled from the field. The Liberty are going to need both of them to shoot better and keep moving the ball. They combined for 11 assists, so they are moving the ball around. Betnijah Laney was also held to only 11 points while she has been putting up 20.

The moral of this story is that New York must shoot better if they want to win this game. They need to make the right adjustments to get back on track.

New York Liberty vs Las Vegas Aces Prediction and Picks

Prediction & Pick: Game Total O171.5 Points (-113)

After getting crushed in Game 1, I'm torn on a side for this game. One thing I do like is this total. It's the same number as Game 1 and we know that game had a 181 total. The sportsbooks are expecting somewhat of a similar game, which is possible even with a closer game.

The other thing I like is reason play. The Aces have gone over in 3 of their last 4 games and the Liberty have in 2 of their last 3 games. We're in the finals and everything is on the line, so both teams will be shooting plenty.

I'm not sure if we see another close first half or a one-sided fast paced game, but we're going to see points. After Game 1, I lean the Liberty having a bigger lead at half due to better shooting. They'll need to slow down the Aces as much as possible, but Las Vegas averaged 93 points per game this year, so they'll put up their fair share. Give me the over and let's root for points.

Player Prop: Chelsea Gray O7.5 Assists (-113)

Gray has had a fantastic year and has been the main facilitator for Las Vegas this season. She averaged 7.3 assists on the year and is averaging 6.8 per game this post season.

She has hit this line in her last 3 out of 5 games. Gray just had 9 last game vs the Liberty and also had 9 and 11 in the 2 games previous. Think of her almost as the quarterback directing traffic and moving the ball around.

I like for her to get this number again. I'm not sure what Liberty team we get tomorrow, but I think all 4 bigs for the Aces will be showing out on the home court again. We're taking her assists for back-to-back hits for her.
