What a tournament it has been.
There has been plenty of talk about this being one of the most entertaining World Cups in recent memory. Honestly, it is hard to argue with that.
We have witnessed the international farewell of several legends. At the same time, one of the greatest players ever is chasing a second consecutive World Cup title.
Standing in his way is a teenager he famously met 18 years ago.
Yes, Lionel Messi once bathed Lamine Yamal as a baby. I'll save the full story for another day if you have no idea what I'm talking about.
For now, let's get into today's plays.

Lamine Yamal (Spain) To Score or Assist
You could call both of these plays chalk, but I honestly do not care.
We are getting plus money on two elite players in a final that feels like it was scripted years ago. I am buying into it.
Yamal has not exactly filled the stat sheet during this World Cup.
Still, I believe he has improved as the tournament has progressed. The more minutes he has played, the more comfortable he has looked.
The biggest question entering the tournament surrounded his injury. Nobody knew how healthy he was or how effective he could be.
I think he has played well overall.
However, when judging him by his own ridiculous standards, he has underachieved statistically.
That shows you how talented he is.
We expect Yamal to contribute a goal or assist every time he steps onto the pitch. That is the level he has already reached at such a young age.
Even when he is not on the scoresheet, he still impacts matches.
He draws defenders, creates space, and forces opponents to adjust their entire defensive shape.
Now he gets the biggest stage possible.
He will also be facing the player most people compare his future to. I expect that matchup to bring a little extra energy out of him.

Messi had both assists in Argentina's comeback against England in the World Cup Semifinal. Will the heroics continue on Sunday?
I have to play this.
I just have to.
Getting Lionel Messi at plus money in the score-or-assist market will always grab my attention. The opponent almost does not matter.
I said the winner of France and Spain would be my pick to win the World Cup. That is still the direction I am leaning.
However, I will not be betting against Messi.
There are certain things in sports you simply do not do. Betting against the greatest players in the biggest moments is one of them.
You did not bet against Tom Brady in the NFL.
After watching this World Cup, you would have to be brave to bet against Messi now.
He has carried Argentina time and time again.
Messi has reminded everyone why he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, to ever play the game.
Argentina are never truly out of a match while No. 10 is on the pitch.
He enters the final with eight goals and four assists. With Kylian Mbappé getting two goals and an assist in France's loss in the third-place match, he finished the tournament with 10 goals and four assists and is now a heavy favorite in the Golden Boot race.
Messi will enter the final needing one more magical moment to secure the award, but would anyone really be surprised if he comes through?
If Argentina are going to break down this Spain side, Messi will have to be involved.
It could be a goal, an assist, or one perfect pass that changes everything.
Either way, Argentina's hopes will once again run through the left foot of Lionel Messi.
At plus money, I am not overthinking it.
