Groups C and D Picks and Predictions: 2026 FIFA World Cup

With less than two weeks to go until the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Mexico City, we still have some time to lock in some future picks and group winners. We already broke down our best bets in Groups A and B, along with plenty of other World Cup picks. But in this article, we are attacking Groups C and D as we try to find our favorite picks and predictions in those quads. Can the United States make a deep run in this tournament? Let's find out.
2026 FIFA World Cup – Group C Picks
Achraf Hakimi and Morocco made history in 2022 by making the FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals. Can they go further this year?
Group C might be a bit lopsided, as we have two very good teams in Brazil and Morocco, one that is right around "average" in Scotland, while the last one is just happy to be here, shoutout Haiti.

Odds to Win Group C
- Brazil -350
- Morocco +450
- Scotland +1000
- Haiti +10000
As we can see with the betting odds to win the group, Brazil is the HEAVY favorite, and for good reason. However, there could be value elsewhere on the board. No, I am not suggesting you bet on Scotland or Haiti to win the group, or even for either of those teams to make it to the bracket play.
Instead, I'll be sprinkling on Morocco to win this group at a fantastic price.
Group C Best Bet: Morocco to Win Group C (+450)
Line shop as always, as Morocco can be found at 5-1, which is what I bet. Here's what I see happening. Brazil and Morocco should both earn wins over Scotland and Haiti. The difficult part of this equation, is that Morocco and Brazil open up against each other in New York on June 13. We need this match to end in a draw, or a Moroccan win.
If they draw, and likely beat the other two, both teams will sit tied with seven points, leaving goal differential as a tiebreaker. I believe Morocco could edge out the Brazilians, who may be sleep walking through group stage, knowing they have an easy path out of it.
Morocco made it all the way to the quarterfinals in 2022, beating Spain and Portugal before losing to France. This team returns nine of those players, most of whom are starters. They have plenty of firepower to compete with the best, and for nearly 5-1, they are definitely worth a sprinkle.
2026 FIFA World Cup – Group D Picks
How far can Weston McKennie and the USMNT go in the 2026 FIFA World Cup?
Group D gives us Turkey. Paraguay, Australia, and of course, the United States.
Odds to Win Group D
- United States +135
- Turkey +175
- Paraguay +400
- Australia +900
Simply based off the betting odds, this is the toughest group to predict. Every team is priced shorter than 10-1 to win the group, and this is the only quad without the favorite listed for a negative price. This could very sneakily be the "Group of Death", just based on the numbers.
Ultimately, it would be a shame if the United States does not top the group, but I could see Turkey taking the top spot. Regardless, Group D should send three teams into the Round of 32, but I think that might be the limit for the United States.
Group D Best Bet: USA Stage of Elimination: Round of 32 (+170)
This team lacks an attacking presence, and what I mean by that, is that based on Pochettino's roster selections, he seems to be in a very defensive mindset. The United States is good enough to win the group by beating teams 1-0 or 2-1. But that's not going to cut it in the knockout rounds. The Stars and Stripes will not be able to hold teams like England, France or Portugal to just one goal, therefore, the offense needs to step up.
In my mind, Pochettino brought way too many defenders, without enough midfield depth. Tyler Adams is going to get worn out playing 90 minutes a match in group stage, and I think the lack of depth will hurt us in the later rounds, resulting in them losing in the Round of 32, regardless of their opponent.
