We've got another competition to add to the calendar as the Leagues Cup is officially underway!

If you're new to the tournament, it features all 18 Liga MX clubs along with the top 18 qualifying teams from MLS. There's always a little extra edge when these two leagues meet, and that usually leads to some entertaining football.

One thing to keep in mind early in the tournament is squad rotation. Some clubs may choose to rest key players, so always check the starting lineups before betting player props or match markets.

With that out of the way, let's get into my favorite plays.

Dallas vs. Querétaro Over 2.75 Goals

We're going back to the "Asian Total" market for this one.

Depending on your sportsbook, you may see this listed as Over 2.75 Goals or Over 2.5, 3.0 Goals. I prefer this market because the standard Over 2.5 is carrying a little too much juice for my liking.

It gives us similar exposure while laying a much better price.

I really like the matchup from both sides.

Dallas can play at different tempos depending on the opponent, but I expect this match to open up. At home, they're averaging two goals per game, and their home fixtures have produced an average of 3.78 total goals this season.

Defensively, they've been solid enough.

The challenge tonight is that Querétaro don't like to sit back.

They're an aggressive, high-pressing side that wants to play with tempo and attack whenever possible. Through three Liga MX matches, they're averaging just under two goals per game.

The underlying numbers suggest they could be scoring even more.

On the other end, Querétaro have looked vulnerable defensively. They're conceding more than a goal per match and have actually outperformed their defensive metrics to start the season.

That tells me more goals could be coming against them.

With Dallas playing at home and Querétaro happy to attack, this sets up as one of the more entertaining matches on today's slate.

My expectation is an open game with chances at both ends.

Play: Dallas vs. Querétaro Over 2.75 Goals (-125)

Toluca vs. Seattle Over 2.75 Goals

These two sides face off for the first time in Round One of the Leagues Cup.

I'm going right back to the "Asian Total" market.

There's no sugarcoating it—Seattle have been struggling.

They lost their final two matches before the World Cup break and have dropped all four since MLS returned. Right now, they simply don't look like a team ready to travel into Mexico and dominate.

That said, this is still the defending Leagues Cup champion.

If there's ever a time for Seattle to reset mentally, it's in a tournament where they've already proven they can beat Liga MX opposition.

Maybe that's a little optimistic, but I don't think they'll roll over.

The bigger challenge is where this match is being played.

Toluca are one of the toughest home teams in North America, and Estadio Nemesio Diez has long been one of the most difficult road trips because of the altitude and atmosphere.

Toluca are averaging two goals per match this season, and their home games are already producing more than three total goals on average.

Their last three matches have all finished with at least three goals.

Seattle's recent games have followed a similar trend, with three of their last four clearing that number as well.

There's a very real chance Toluca cover this total on their own.

I do think Seattle can find one goal, but I still see the hosts controlling the match.

My projected score is 3-1 Toluca.

Play: Toluca vs. Seattle Over 2.75 Goals (-125)
