Yesterday's results went 1-3, -2.oo Units. YTD now sits at 16-9 for a profit of 9.30 Units. It's Halloween and the NHL has an unusually lighter Saturday slate. I am targeting two games for my best bets, first we have matinee action as the Ottawa Senators visit the San Jose Sharks then we have the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Vancouver Canucks for the nightcap.

As far as my NHL picks, I look at shot on goal props, but only plus money looks, as the market is very volatile with stat corrections (sometimes days after the game has ended). Also, I'm a totals bettor (team and game). I am never afraid at looking at plus money underdogs. I love providing my insight as to the "Why" and I hope to provide some guidance to novice bettors of this great sport. "Spot" betting is huge on the ice, and this depends on teams travel schedules, goaltending matchups and splits following a win/loss, among may others.

Here is a look at how these teams have fared over their last 5 games along with some recent betting trends:
The Ottawa Senators continue their 5 games West coast trip as they visit the San Jose Sharks this afternoon. The Sens have losses to Vegas (4-1) on this trip and most recently they dropped a 6-5 score against the Kings, in overtime. Ottawa starting goalie Linus Ullmark suffered a lower body injury in a game against the Florida Panthers on October 21st, leaving the net to Sam Ersson and recently called up Jonas Johansson. In the games since Ullmark went down, the Senators have allowed goals of 6,4,4 and 6, including a 6 spot to this Sharks team, in Ottawa, on October 22nd. In fact, Ottawa has allowed at least 3 goals in all games started by anybody not named Ullmark, dating back to before his injury.
San Jose's offense has yet to get going at home this season as they are only averaging 2.7 goals per game, but I am all for fading this goalie tandem that Ottawa currently sends out and I will continue to do so.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Vancouver Canucks Goaltending Matchup
- Toronto Maple Leafs (7-6-2) Anthony Stolarz (confirmed) 4-1, 2.80 GAA/.907 Sv%
- Vancouver Canucks (3-11-1) Kevin Lankinen (projected) 1-7, 6.18 GAA/.812 Sv%
Maple Leafs vs Canucks Betting Odds
Odds courtesy of our friends at LuckyRebel:
Money-Line
- Toronto Maple Leafs (-192)
- Vancouver Canucks (+160)
Pick-Line
- Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (+130)
- Vancuver Canucks +1.5 (-155)
Total
- Over 6.5 (-125)
- Under 6.5 (+105)
Here is a look at how these teams have fared over their last 5 games along with some recent betting trends:
The Toronto Maple Leafs make the final stop of their 4 game Western road trip as the visit the Vancouver Canucks, tonight at Rogers Arena. The Buds are 1-2 currently on this trip as they began it with a very impressive 7-2 in Edmonton a week ago. Toronto followed that up with a 5-2 loss in Calgary and a heartbreaking 5-4 loss in Seattle on Wednesday night.
The Leafs are in a very good spot to split this trip tonight as Vancouver is one of the worst teams in the NHL this season. The Canucks are allowing a league hight 4.7 goals per game at home this season. The Nucks have not gotten any help from the tendies as tonights projected starter Kevin Lankinen sports a .812 save percentage. Conversely, the Leafs are averaging 4.8 goals per game on the road (2nd best) and are sporting the leagues 2nd best road Power Play, converting at 38% clip. The Leafs should have no problem hitting the 4 goal plataue as they'll be motivated to end this trip on a high note.

Number 1 Overall Pick Gavin McKenna is settling in nicely on Toronto. In 15 games, McKenna has 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points. He has record and apple in 3 of his last 4 games and is playing on the top line with Auston Matthews. Gavin is also getting top line Power Play minutes. With the Leafs in a A+ matchup tonight, I take him to record an assist, at plus money.
