A record-setting day might have been for naught against the Miami Dolphins last Sunday, but the odds are favorable that Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears won't come up empty-handed in their Week 10 matchup with the Detroit Lions.
Against the Dolphins, Fields set a new single-game rushing record for quarterbacks, running for 178 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries, highlighted by a 61-yard scoring scamper.
However, he and the Bears came up short where it mattered most, as Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins left Soldier Field with a 35-32 win.
While Chicago couldn't quite get it done against Miami, Detroit picked up the most welcome of wins against the flailing and failing Green Bay Packers.
It looked like Aaron Rodgers might pull it out in the final minute, but clutch defense secured the Lions' first win since a Week 2 win over the Washington Commanders.
Now, can the Lions finally get their first road win in almost two years? That win came against the Bears in Chicago–a come-from-behind 34-30 win on December 6, 2020–so it would certainly be fitting for the streak to come to an end there.

Last week's win over Green Bay was a deserved reward for Detroit, who had come out on the short end in a number of close games already and appeared destined to again until the defense forced four consecutive Aaron Rodgers incompletions inside the red zone in the final minute.
But I don't expect their winless run on the road to end on Sunday or for them to win back-to-back games for the first time since wins over the Jaguars and Falcons in Weeks 6 and 7 two years ago.
Against Green Bay, Detroit didn't give up points on possessions in which the Packers reached the 5 (interception), 1 (interception), 38 (turnover on downs), 22 (interception), and 17 (turnover on downs). As much as the Packers are struggling to score points right now, that is pretty astounding bending but not breaking.
But I don't see that happening two weeks in a row. The Lions may not fully regress to their usual ways, but Fields should follow his record-setting day with a winning performance at home.
