The Washington Commanders have been playing better since Taylor Heinicke took over as starting quarterback. But can they really shake things up and upset the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10's Monday Night Football matchup?

After winning Heinicke's first two starts against the Packers and Colts, Washington was on track to keep its run going against the visiting Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday. But they were unable to seal the deal after leading by 10 with 14 minutes left, as Minnesota rallied for a 20-17 win.

The loss ended Washington's three-game win streak and deprived the NFC East from having all four teams over .500, but Monday's matchup with the 8-0 Eagles will be another opportunity for Heinicke to prove his long-term worth as a starting quarterback in the NFL, whether with the Commanders or another team.

Unsurprisingly, the Eagles are heavily favored to take their record to 9-0 come Monday night. But after taking a while to put away the Houston Texans last week, could Philly be vulnerable against their improving rivals?

Commanders vs. Eagles Prediction and Best Bets

Prediction: Eagles to win

While the loss against the Vikings was a real missed opportunity, the Commanders seem to be a much better team with Heinicke than they did with Carson Wentz. Heinicke wasn't outstanding against the Vikings, but there certainly seems to be a level of belief and direction that didn't exist with Wentz.

I mean, who wouldn't want to play with this guy?

The Texans were able to run the ball against the Eagles, with Dameon Pierce going for 139 yards on 27 carries (both season/career bests). If Heinicke can avoid mistakes–which Texans QB Davis Mills, who threw two costly picks, didn't–Washington can move the ball enough to stay in the game.

The Eagles were dominant in a 24-8 win at Washington in Week 3, outgaining them 400-240 and holding them scoreless on offense until Antonio Gibson's touchdown run with 1:55 left in the game.

Even though this game is in in Philadelphia, where the Eagles' biggest wins this season have come, I don't see the rematch going like the first meeting did. I do think the Eagles will get the win to remain perfect, but I expect Heinicke and the Commanders to be competitive from start to finish.
