Cowboys vs Dolphins Prediction & Best Bet: NFL Week 16

Are the Cowboys capable of bouncing back from last week's loss? Of course. They're one of the deepest teams on both sides of the ball and are led by QB Dak Prescott, who has the third-best odds (+750) to be named the 2023 NFL MVP, per Bovada.

Unfortunately, rebounding from defeat won't be as easy with the Cowboys playing on the road, once again. By this point, it's become increasingly clear that Dallas doesn't have that same level of dominance and confidence on the road as they do at home.

For example, at AT&T Stadium, the Cowboys score an average of 39.9 points (1st) while allowing 15.4 PPG (3rd) for a plus-24.4 average scoring margin (1st). However, on the road, Mike McCarthy's team averages 21.7 PPG (15th), surrenders 22.3 PPG (13th), and is outscored by the opposition by a 0.6-point average (14th).

It's safe to say that the Cowboys are in for a tough test at Hard Rock Stadium. After all, the Dolphins rank second in points scored, sixth in points allowed, and second in average scoring margin at home in 2023.

After getting destroyed by the Bills on the ground last week, the Cowboys must tighten things up in the trenches. The Dolphins are one of the most dangerous teams on the ground, averaging 139. rushing yards per game (4th) and 5.1 yards per carry (1st).

While Miami's defense is far from perfect, it has held four of the last five opponents to 15 or fewer points. I'm not saying that will happen to Dallas as well, but it's worth noting that America's Team is only averaging 18.7 points in its last six road games, playing a key role in the Cowboys' 2-4 SU record during that span.

In what should be a great game in Miami, I like the Dolphins winning this one. As good as the Cowboys are, they crumble against the best teams on the road. They lost to the 49ers by 32 in San Francisco. They lost to the Eagles by five in Philadelphia. And now they just lost to the Bills by 21 in Buffalo.

Regardless of who wins, though, I'm taking the Over on the 50-point total, too. After all, Dallas and Miami are the two highest-scoring teams in the NFL. The Over is also a combined 16-12 for these teams while games at Hard Rock Stadium this season have seen an average of 52.3 points this season.

With both sides having much to prove, expect fireworks on Christmas Eve.

Best Cowboys vs Dolphins Player Prop — NFL Week 16

There are a lot of solid Cowboys vs. Dolphins player props to choose from, but I'm going with Raheem Mostert as an anytime touchdown scorer.

The Dolphins RB has been near-unstoppable this season, racking up 20 total touchdowns in 14 games. Mostert has found the end zone in 11 out of 14 games so far and has racked up 13 of his TDs in seven outings at Hard Rock Stadium. The Cowboys play well defensively more often than not, but they've allowed 10 TDs to running backs — including two to James Cook last week.

With this game projected to be a shootout, Mostert has a terrific opportunity to make some noise.
