#14 LSU vs Mississippi State, Prediction & Picks: Tigers Roll in Starkville

We've got an SEC Showdown in Starkville as the #14 ranked LSU Tigers take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Last year, Jayden Daniels and the Tigers beat the Bulldogs 31-16 at home, but now they go on the road in a conference contest.
The Bulldogs have not beaten the LSU Tigers since Week 1 of 2020, and I'm sure they are sick of the losses.
Let's take a look at this game and see if Mississippi State has a chance to pull of the upset at home.

Can Mississippi State Slow Down Daniels, Tigers?
The Tigers offense put up 72 points last week against Grambling. They lost to FSU in Week 1, but still put up 24. The defense couldn't stop the Seminoles.
Jayden Daniels threw for 269 yards and 5 TDs, while Logan Diggs added 115 and a TD on the ground.
The Bulldogs defense will need to slow down the Tigers and force them into punts or turnovers. They forced the Arizona Wildcats into 5 TOs last week, but Daniels is smarter and has Brian Kelly scheming for him.
I think Daniels takes care of the ball, and the Tigers go into Starkville and dominate.

Malik Nabers over 73.5 Rec Yards (-115) Bovada
Nabers had 5 receptions for 87 yards last week, and 6 for 67 in Week 1. He's Daniels' clear #1 target, and I expect them to be throwing the ball plenty against this Mississippi defense.
They stack the box and are tough to run against, so Kelly will surely scheme up some quick passes for Nabers to make a play after the catch.
Dating back to last season, Nabers has cleared this line in 4 of his L6 games, going over 100 yards in 3 of those contests.
I trust Brian Kelly to air it out plenty against the Bulldogs, and I like Daniels to find Nabers for plenty of yards.
