We got ourselves quite a Friday night of College Football. Miami, one of the top offenses in the country and Heisman favorite, Darian Mensah travel to Winston Salem to take on Wake Forest. Meanwhile, a top 25 matchup in the BIG 12 between Houston and Texas Tech. Should be a great night of ball!

Miami vs Wake Forest NCAA Football Picks

If you haven't gotten a chance to watch Miami's offense this season you're missing out. I said at the beginning of the season that Darian Mensah, Mark Fletcher, and Malachi Toney is the best QB-RB-WR trio in College Football and they have't disappointed through 2 games. The Canes put up 45 against Stanford and 77 vs Florida A&M. This week they are another huge favorite, expected to win by 3 touchdowns.
As for Wake Forest, they have scored 38 points in their first two games. Week 1 against Akron and Week 2 in double overtime vs Purdue. I'm a big fan of their head coach Jake Dickert and they have a veteran QB in Gio Lopez.
A lot of people are thinking Miami can get back to the title game this year and possibly even win it and when you watch this offense how can you blame them? My concern though is the defense. They aren't as bad as they were 2 years ago with Cam Ward, but they aren't as good as last year's defense either. While Miami should put up some points in this game I think Wake Forest should put up some points as well.
Wake Forest can sometimes be a weird place for teams to place especially at night so maybe Wake can hang around and keep this game competitive longer than people think, but I would expect some points. I like the Over 55.
Houston vs Texas Tech NCAA Football Picks
It's not often you get a top 25 matchup on a Friday night, but that's what we have tonight. One of the bigger games in the BIG 12 this season will go down in Lubbock between Houston and Texas Tech. Red Raiders were the clear cut preseason favorite to win the BIG 12 in the offseason despite the Brendan Sorsby saga. Houston was thought of as one of those teams who can definitely challenge them.
Oregon State has been a common opponent for both of these teams through the first two weeks. Houston defeated the Beavers 33-20 and Texas Tech beat them last week 35-24. Common opponents aren't the most defying statistic in the world, but it's fascinating that both final scores were relatively close.
Texas Tech lost a lot of quality players on their defense from last year including the defensive player of the year ( Jacob Rodriguez) and the number 2 overall pick ( David Bailey). Even though they are still the best and most talented team in the league on paper I don't think they are as feared as they were a year ago.
I think both offenses are very similar and both teams have good head coaches. This game should be close and a dog fight. Houston has been waiting all offseason for this game knowing that in week 3 they were going to get Texas Tech. That game is here and I expect them to play well and keep it within the number. Give me Houston +7.5.
