In my opinion, the nine team conference that is the Summit League has one of the more underrated postseason tournaments. For starters, their bracket looks normal (shots fired at the Sun Belt), and it usually features good competition. Now, the top seed has won this tournament for four straight seasons, but we might have a chance at some upsets to get our March started. Let's take a look at the odds and see if we can find any futures.

Summit League Tournament – Bracket & Betting Odds
The Summit League Tournament is in Sioux Falls. Can anyone take down the Bison?
If chalk runs this bracket for a fifth straight season, the North Dakota State Bison will find themselves in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 (would've gone in 2020, RIP). But the oddsmakers actually have a different team as the betting favorite to represent this league in the Big Dance. Although the Bison only lost twice this year in conference play, they split the season series with the No. 2 seed Tommies, and lost by 22 on the road. Could St. Thomas go dancing for the first time ever? The books think it'll happen.

Based on these odds, it's clearly a two horse race. It could be telling that Denver is the third favorite as the No. 6 seed, and they were the only other team to take down North Dakota State during the regular season. Ultimately the Pioneers fell due to the short end of a three way tie between them, North Dakota and Omaha, but they could end up being a favorite over the Fighting Hawks in the quarterfinals.

Best Bet: North Dakota State to Win Summit League (+140) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
Now, we're trying to set ourselves up for success here going into the championship game. For starters, the Bison have the MUCH easier side of the bracket. Duh, they're the top seed, they earned it. But none of the teams they'll face until the final contest finished with a conference record above .500. South Dakota is the only team that finished above .500 overall (16-15).
The Tommies will have to go through either the No. 3 seed in the conference or the third betting favorite just to get to the title game. Based on past matchups, I believe NDSU will be the favorite in a third meeting with St. Thomas. In the first meeting they were favored by 2.5 at home, and covered (won by three). On the road, they were actually a 3.5 point underdog, but they lost by 22. Even though that was the case, in the title game, on a neutral site, I think the books will give the nod to the top seed in the conference.
If that's the case (I've been wrong before), we could be sitting with plus money while NDSU lays a point or two and find ourselves in a position to hedge out if we want. I don't like the Tommies at their current price, and don't really think any longshots are worth it in this league tournament.
