We don't always get two of the best teams in the country from different conferences playing this late in the season prior to the tournament, but lucky for all of us CBB sickos, the top ranked Michigan Wolverines take on the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils in Washington D.C. this Saturday. Jon Scheyer and Dusty May lead their teams into this showdown who should be comfortably on the one seed line. However there is still time for them to slip and have someone else take their place. Let's find out how our college hoops analysts are betting on this game by exploring their favorite picks.

#1 Michigan Wolverines vs. #3 Duke Blue Devils NCAA Basketball Insights

Can the Duke Blue Devils step up to the task and upset the Wolverines?
Both teams have been nearly perfect all year long, with a combined record of 49-3 between the two schools. Michigan only lost to the Wisconsin Badgers by three in Ann Arbor, while Duke dropped games to Texas Tech by one on a neutral site and lost on a last second three to the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. Just seven total points separate these two teams from a perfect record so far this season, but someone has to lose this weekend.
Michigan opens as a short favorite in this neutral site game that is much closer to Duke's campus. However, I'm sure the Wolverine faithful will make the trip for this exciting matchup. The Blue Devils lead the ACC by just one game over the Virginia Cavaliers, while the Wolverines are two games ahead of the Illini in the Big Ten. Sure, this game doesn't matter in either conference race, but it could set the tone for these teams going into the postseason.

#1 Michigan vs. #3 Duke NCAA Basketball Picks and Predictions

Michigan take on Duke this Saturday, and I'll be backing the Wolverines to get the job done
Michigan vs. Duke Prediction: Michigan Wins and Covers, Over 148.5

Neither team will fully control the pace in this game as it is on a neutral site, but expect Michigan to push the tempo. Yes, both teams are very good defensively, but the Wolverines are top 10 in terms of pace and they are very efficient offensively, as they rank second in the country in shooting percentage from inside the arc. The Blue Devils will have their hands full, but I believe they can keep up (for a while) and contribute to this total.
The Blue Devils rank No. 243 overall in possessions per game, but in four neutral site contests, they jump into the top half of the country. They aren't afraid to attack the hoop and draw contact, but we might see them rely on their outside shooting a little bit more, given all the rim protectors on Michigan.
I believe the Wolverines will assert their dominance. They have more scoring options than the Blue Devils, and can pivot if Yaxel Lendeborg is shut down (he won't be). As for Duke, if Cameron Boozer has to deal with some adversity (he will) things might go downhill fast. We are going to see men against boys in this game, and I trust Michigan to get the job done while scoring plenty.
