The tight race for the Big East regular season title race could be set to take another turn tonight, as #10 Marquette visits #19 Creighton (8:30 pm ET, FS1).
The Golden Eagles (21-6, 13-3 Big East) are alone in first, but #16 Xavier (20-7, 12-4 Big East), #20 Providence (20-7, 12-4 Big East), and Creighton (18-9, 12-4 Big East) are all in the mix with four games left for each team.
A win tonight for Marquette would put the Golden Eagles within sight of the finish line for their first regular season title in the new Big East, but a Creighton win would set up a wild finish where any of the four contenders could claim the crown.

Can Marquette Buck a Bad Trend for Top Big East Teams?
Odds for tonight's matchup are not in Marquette's favor, and neither are results for the road teams in matchups between the Big East's best teams.
Just how tough has it been for Marquette, Xavier, Providence, Creighton, and UConn to win on the road in their head-to-head matchups?
Well, with only a few such matchups remaining in the regular season–this matchup tonight, Providence-UConn tomorrow night (6:30 pm ET, FS1), and Xavier-Providence on March 1 (6:30 pm, FS1)–only one road team has won thus far in the meetings betwen these five teams
- Marquette: lost 103-98 (2OT) at Providence, 80-76 at Xavier, and 87-72 at UConn
- Xavier: won 82-79 at UConn, lost 84-67 at Creighton and 69-68 at Marquette
- Providence: lost 73-67 at Creighton, 83-75 at Marquette, and 85-83 (OT) at UConn
- Creighton: lost 69-60 at UConn, 90-87 at Xavier, and 94-86 (2OT) at Providence
- UConn: lost 83-73 at Xavier, 82-76 at Marquette, and 56-53 at Creighton

Golden Eagles vs Bluejays Prediction: Creighton to win

Creighton opened Big East play with a loss at Marquette, which, at the time, was their sixth consecutive losses. Since that loss, the Bluejays are 12-3, and they gotten into the regular season title conversation by winning nine of their last ten games.
At home, the Bluejays are a perfect 8-0 in conference play, and that record will improve to 9-0 tonight.
Marquette's road losses to the other top teams in the conference have all been higher-scoring games, and though Creighton is the best defensive team among this quintet, I expect tonight's game to follow that trend.
With that in mind, the over on Creighton's team total is also good value tonight. The Bluejays have scored 77 or more points five times in eight home games in Big East play, and all five of those performances have been double-digit wins.
Marquette may well play them a little closer, but the Bluejays will get the cover. That said, I don't love going beyond a certain point with spreads too often, so I'm rolling with the first half cover instead in addition to the over on the team total.
