Mark Pope and his 22 million dollar roster are finally back in the top 25 after an 8-3 start in SEC play, but they will have their work cut out for them on Saturday as they face the No. 25 Florida Gators. The Wildcats have lost Jaland Lowe and Jayden Quaintance for the rest of the season, but that hasn't stopped them from making a late season push for a better seed in the tournament. However the defending national champions are looking like they could go back to back with the way they've been playing. Our college hoops experts dug into this matchup and found their favorite picks, so let's check out how they are wagering on this matchup.

#25 Kentucky Wildcats vs. #14 Florida Gators NCAA Basketball Insights

Brandon Garrison and Kentucky have won eight of their last nine overall - Kentucky Florida Picks

Brandon Garrison and Kentucky have won eight of their last nine overall

Both teams bring winning streaks into this game. Since losing to Auburn on their home floor, the Gators have won four straight and are 9-2 in the conference so far. As for the Wildcats, they've won three in a row and eight of their last nine after losing their first two SEC contests to Alabama and Missouri. This is the first of two meetings between these schools, as they meet in Rupp Arena to end the year in early March.

Both are playing phenomenal basketball at the moment, and the Wildcats have had a full week of rest in preparation for this contest. Florida took down the Georgia Bulldogs on the road earlier this week, and have blown out all of their opponents in their last four, winning by an average score of 27.8 points during this stretch.

Will they be able to cover this large number against another top 25 team?

Kentucky vs. Florida Prediction: Florida Wins and Covers, Over 152.5

Best Bet: Kentucky/Florida Over 152.5 (-110) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook

Personally, I think this number is high for a reason, the spread that is. You don't often see a ranked on ranked matchup with a double digit spread, but I'm leaning into it being a telling line. However, I am not willing to lay the points with Florida, and instead will take a correlated play by backing the over.

The Gators team total could also be a look as well, but it was not available when I booked this, and I expect it to be around 82.5 which is a go. However, we will need Kentucky to contribute a little bit in this spot.

Florida looks as good as anyone at the moment. They've won four straight and nine of their last 10 games overall and are actually 13-2 since losing to Duke and UConn in back to back games. This team has turned it on, and I am not willing to fade them at all. They are very good defensively, but they are also crazy fast, averaging about 71 possessions per game. The Wildcats aren't afraid to run either, and they do a great job of getting to the free throw line on the road.

Both schools are phenomenal at crashing the boards, so expect some great battles on the glass, but ultimately I see the Gators running away with this one. But assuming they go up big, they should take some possessions off on the defensive side of the ball, giving us plenty of chances for the Wildcats to do their part. Much like the Kansas vs. Iowa State game, I expect this number to increase prior to tip off, and I will be monitoring in case a chance to middle presents itself.
