Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Andrew Vaughn - World Series Odds Stock Watch: Which Teams Are on the Rise? (August 11, 2025)

With the MLB All-Star break and trade deadline now behind us, the countdown to the postseason can officially begin. But which potential contenders are trending up? World Series odds at top online sportsbooks have certainly seen some notable fluctuations as of late.

Below, we break down four teams whose fortunes are heading in a favorable direction, along with how their World Series winner odds have changed over the last couple of weeks.

World Series Stock Watch: Teams on the Rise

Updated 2025 World Series odds are courtesy of BetOnline, which is one of the top World Series betting sites.

Milwaukee Brewers (+1600 to +900)

The Brewers are 48-16 since May 24, but they have been especially excellent over the last month. They are 25-5 in their last 30 games, have won nine of 10 series, and start this week off the back of three consecutive sweeps against the Nationals, Braves, and Mets.

After breaking out the brooms against New York, Milwaukee enters today with a five-game lead for the best record in the majors and a six-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central.

Can they keep it up? Some tough series are ahead, but you have to wonder who will slow them down when their last month includes two sweeps of the Dodgers, a sweep of the Mets, and series wins over the Cubs and Mariners.

San Diego Padres (+2800 to +1200)

Since a four-game skid a couple of weeks ago, the Padres have won 11 of 14. In the NL West race, they have pulled within just two games of the rival Dodgers, who are 7-7 in that same stretch.

The next couple of weeks will tell the tale about San Diego's status as a top World Series contender. Their next 13 games are against the Giants (three away this week, four at home next week) and Dodgers (three away this week, three at home next week), and after that run of rivalry contests, they will visit Seattle for a series.

Can the Padres make it through these next 16 games with 10 or more wins? If they do, these odds likely will shorten even more.

Seattle Mariners (+2500 to +900)

The Mariners' identity as the lone active MLB team without a World Series appearance is well-documented, but they could be on their way to a date with destiny this season.

At the end of July, things appeared to be on shaky ground after back-to-back series losses to the Angels and A's. But nine wins in 10 games have the M's within a half-game of the Astros in the AL West ahead of a nine-game stretch away from home.

Questions about Seattle's lineup will persist, but Julio Rodriguez is hitting .345 (10 for 29) with four homers and nine RBI in his last eight games, and Cal Raleigh awoke from his slumber with homers in all three games against the Rays.

Toronto Blue Jays (+1600 to +1000)

The Blue Jays have come down to earth by losing three of their last four series, but they are still 28-14 (.667) in their last 42 games and 44-23 (.657) in their last 67 games.

After having 14 of 17 games on the road, 12 of Toronto's next 18 games are at home, with their two road series coming against the Pirates and Marlins. That presents an opportunity to pad their lead in the AL East, which currently sits at four games.
