Both clubs are getting each other out of the way early, because after this stretch of games, they won't meet up again until the playoffs, if both teams get there. This is simply me backing a team that has been hot while fading one that is slumping. The Rangers have now lost three straight games and are just 9-11 on the road this year. They have also lost six of their last eight overall as well, even with their splits improving on the road and against right handed pitchers.
Eovaldi has gotten ripped apart this year, and even though he is coming off tossing seven scoreless against the Yankees in his last start, things might change on the road. His ERA increases to 5.66 in away games, and his WHIP balloons up to 1.63. Not great, Bob.
Those red hot Yankees have won five in a row, and are 13-5 at home this season. Their already impressive .244 average jumps to .250 at home and against right handed pitchers. Plus, they are 15-2 in their last 17 games overall. Back them again tonight to win by two.
