Two NL West teams get ready to close out their four game series tonight in Los Angeles as the Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants. The hosts are currently battling with the San Diego Padres for the top spot in the division, as they sit half a game back. The Giants are a bit further down, a full 7.5 games behind the Padres in fourth place of the NL West. However San Francisco took the first two games of this series, can they seal the win tonight? This is the fourth game of this series, but the seventh between the two ball clubs so far this season. Back in late April, the two met at Oracle Park, where the Giants won two out of the three games. The Giants came to Los Angeles on Monday, beating their hosts in the first two of this series by scores of 9-3 and 6-2. However, once again in the third game, we saw the Dodgers pitch a shutout, winning 4-0 last night. Now we have a fourth game as the Dodgers have a chance to even things up in this series, but can they do so? Let's look at the betting odds and pitching matchup before getting into our MLB picks.

The Giants actually hit better on the road, and ironically, the Dodgers are worse in their own ballpark. However both have plenty of success against right handed pitching, so we could see plenty of runs.

Emmet Sheehan's strikeout prop is lower than it should be tonight against the Giants

I see runs in this game, but especially from one side. Today we are getting cute with this same game parlay, backing Emmet Sheehan for at least six strikeouts paired with the Dodgers to win the game. Pretty simple stuff and plenty of correlation. Now, the Giants are not a team that strikeouts all that much, but Sheehan has been shoving.
Because the Giants avoid swinging and missing, I think we are getting his strikeout prop at a discount. He's cleared this line in five of seven starts this season, averaging 1.22 K/Inning. Plus, he has had seven, eight and 10 strikeouts in his last three outings. Based on his ERA and WHIP, he is much more comfortable pitching in front of his home crowd, where he has a sub 4.00 ERA and a WHIP of 1.19.
It's also worth noting he has gone over this number in all four starts at Dodger Stadium. As for Landen Roupp, he already pitched five innings against LA, allowing just one earned run on one hit, but he walked five batters in the process. Look for the Dodgers' bats to be ready in this second go around, resulting in them scoring plenty.
