Let's talk about Bryan Woo. His splits are mesmerizing. They are so insanely good at home, and completely terrible on the road. You see his season average listed above the pick. But this guy has an ERA at home of 1.96, and a 0.75 WHIP. But on the road, oh boy does he fall off. In 12 road starts this year, Bryan Woo has posted a 6.71 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. He gives up nearly five extra runs per nine, and his WHIP doubles on the road. So we will fade him tonight. It really is that simple.
The Yankees are also starting lefty Ryan Weathers who has been solid this year and great recently. He's allowed just seven hits in his last two starts, going 13 scoreless innings against the Cardinals and the White Sox. In fact, he's allowed just one earned run in his last three starts overall. Did I mention the Mariners hit just .220 against lefties and are 23-34 on the road this year?
Give me the Yanks, I don't mind the juice at all. Neither does the BN Prediction Engine, who have the Yankees fairly priced around -133.

- Chicago White Sox: RHP Sean Burke (7-6, 3.08 ERA, 1.12 WHIP)

Sean Burke is typically a pitcher I would want to fade, but not in this spot tonight. Now, I am playing the team total, because there's a plus sign, the moneyline is a little juicy, and I like to write about bets that are widely available to everyone. However, if you have a certain green sportsbook, I endorse the White Sox to NOT bat in the 9th at -110 to take the juice off the win. However, let me tell you why they'll score five runs.
For starters, the White Sox score 4.93 runs per game at home this year, about half a run more than on the road. Not a significant difference, however their team batting average jumps from .237 to .245 at home, where they are 36-22 this season. They've also cleared this number in 6/10 games at home since the break, so for plus money I think it's worth a stab tonight against Lodolo.
He is making his first start in a month coming off the IL, and I think he could be in for a rude awakening.

- Athletics: RHP Mason Barnett (1-2, 5.56 ERA, 1.38 WHIP)

The Rays have now won seven games in a row, covering the run line in two straight and five during that stretch. Tonight they look for another win against the Unaffiliated Athletics of Sacramento, as they toss out Nick Martinez, who has been their clear ace all year. He is top 10 in both wins and ERA, while ranking top 15 in WHIP as well. His 2.65 ERA drops to 1.85 on the road this year in 10 starts, while his 1.10 WHIP decreases to 1.08. After his worst outing of the year, he bounced back and pitched 5.2 shutout innings against the Rockies in Coors on Wednesday.
Remember, we are playing at a Mickey Mouse ball park, where the Athletics are just 21-37 this year. Mainly because teams can absolutely rake against them. Barnett is more of a bullpen guy, but he started against Cincinnati on Thursday, giving up five runs on five hits and three walks in just 4.1 innings, including three home runs. The Rays might light him up tonight for several, but their team total is listed for 5.5 at -123. I'll opt for them to win by two for less juice.
