Our MLB analysts dove into the entire slate and found a couple of picks worth wagering on, and they are both listed at plus money. Quick! Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers MLB Picks
Framber Valdez has had an up and down year so far, but thankfully he faces the Mariners who are dead last in batting average against left handed pitchers

- Seattle Mariners: RHP Bryan Woo (5-3, 3.44 ERA, 0.96 WHIP)
- Detroit Tigers: LHP Framber Valdez (2-4, 4.39 ERA, 1.32 WHIP)

Yes, we are indeed backing the terrible Detroit Tigers at home tonight as a slight underdog. I also like the full game under 7.5. However, the Tigers are on a three game winning streak, scoring 25 runs as they swept the AL East leading Tampa Bay Rays. Plus, they toss out Framber Valdez tonight. Admittedly, he has had a rough season, and has not picked up a win since April 19. In fact, Detroit has lost the last five games he's started, with him being responsible for three of those losses. But tonight I have a feeling he can turn things around.
Mainly because the Seattle Mariners are horrendous at hitting left handed pitching. Sure, they won eight straight before losing to the New York Mets last at home, but this team watches their team average drop from .234 all the way down to .205 when facing southpaws. That is dead last in the MLB.
Yes, Bryan Woo has been incredible, and a sub 1.00 WHIP is tough to fade. But I simply don't see him getting enough run support to get this win, and I will continue to ride the hot bats of the Detroit Tigers.
Washington Nationals vs. Arizona Diamondbacks MLB Picks
Merrill Kelly gets the start for the Diamondbacks at home tonight against the Washington Nationals
Nationals vs. Diamondbacks Pitching Matchup
- Washington Nationals: LHP Foster Griffin (6-2, 3.76 ERAA, 1.15 WHIP)
- Arizona Diamondbacks: RHP Merrill Kelly (5-3, 5.06 ERA, 1.46 WHIP)
Best Bet: Diamondbacks -1.5 (+155) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
The straight moneyline is playable by itself for the Snakes at -135, but I'll get a little greedy backing this team at home. All we are doing, is fading the southpaw on the mound for Washington.
Foster Griffin has had a solid year, don't get me wrong. But recently his numbers have gotten slightly worse, allowing 17 earned runs in his last four starts. That might indicate that he is falling into a slump, and the Diamondbacks are rock solid at home, and against left handed pitchers.
The Diamondbacks are 20-12 at home this season, where their team batting average increases from .243 to .251, but that's not all. Arizona leads the entire MLB in batting average against left handed pitchers, hitting an incredible .279 off of southpaws. I will gladly lean into that split to back the Snakes tonight at home.
While Merrill Kelly isn't the scariest force on the mound, he has only given up nine total earned runs in hist last five starts overall, and has won four of his last five outings as well. Back Kelly while he's hot, and fade the opposing lefty against the Snakes.
