We've got a full slate of baseball on this Saturday, but I'll be eyeballing an inter league matchup in Missouri this evening. The Boston Red Sox are a long way from home as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium tonight on FOX. The Red Sox are tossing out their new lefty stud who has taken some time to warm up this season. Will Ranger Suarez be able to bring his stuff and shove against the Cardinals' hitters? Let's find out with our MLB picks in this contest.

Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals MLB Betting Insights

Ranger Suarez has been lit up in two starts as a member of the Red Sox
The Cardinals are red hot. They are off to an 8-5 start, including going 5-2 at Busch Stadium. This team has won three straight and four of their last five overall. But today they face a lefty who had plenty of success against this ball club when he was a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. Can the St. Louis bats stay alive?
This will be the second of three games between the two teams in this series, and it is the only time they will see each other this season, unless the two meet in the World Series in October. Let's take a look at the pitching matchup, as well as the betting odds, to decide if we can find anything worth wagering in this game.

Run Line
- Red Sox -1.5 (+128)
- Cardinals +1.5 (-155)
Moneyline
- Red Sox -134
- Cardinals +110
Total
- Over 7.5 (-118)
- Under 7.5 (-102)
The Red Sox are favored for a reason despite their recent struggles. They lost to St. Louis last night, 3-2, but had won two in a row at home prior to that contest. Will they be able to turn things around today? Do we trust their lefty stud to figure things out after a couple of rough outings to start his career with the Red Sox?
Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals MLB Picks

Nolan Gorman is hitting .237 with two homeruns already this season for St. Louis
Red Sox vs Cardinals Prediction: Cardinals Win Outright, Under 7.5
Best Bet: Cardinals F5 ML (+106) Lucky Rebel Sportsbook
Today we are backing the Cardinals on the first five moneyline. We have some push potential, as this will void if the teams are tied at the end of five innings, and you could even take the F5 +0.5 for (-133) if you want more of a cushion. I think the Cardinals' bats start hot and never look back.
Ranger Suarez has allowed four earned runs in each of his first two starts, lasting just four innings in each outing. On the road against Houston, he gave up seven hits, including two home runs, and didn't look comfortable at home against the Padres either. The Cardinals hit .228 as a team this season, but that number climbs to .236 at Busch Stadium and jumps to .269 against left handed pitchers. This puts them in the top five of the MLB in terms of batting average against lefties.
They led 3-2 at the end of five last night before playing a scoreless final four innings. They also led the Nationals after five innings prior to starting their series against Boston. In seven games at home, they are 3-2-2 after five innings, which gives us some ammo to argue they are better early on in the game. Regardless, I do not trust the way Suarez has been pitching and could see the Cardinals taking advantage as short home underdogs.
