Ranger Suarez and the Red Sox host the Braves for a three game series beginning tonight - Braves Red Sox Picks

Ranger Suarez and the Red Sox host the Braves for a three game series beginning tonight

These two teams already played at Truist Park once this year. In that three game series that ended just nine days ago, the Braves took two of three at home against the Red Sox. The first two were close, as they split games one and two by scores of 3-2 (Braves in game one, Red Sox in game two), but then the Braves turned things on.

Atlanta won the series finale 8-1, and now the two meet again with a fresh slate. Can the Red Sox find a way to enact some revenge and win two of their own at home? Or do the Braves bounce back after dropping the last two to the Nationals this past weekend?

Have no fear, back the Braves with Strider on the bump. The dude has only made four starts this year, but he looks like he is getting back to the swing of things in my eyes. For starters, he already faced this Red Sox team once. A little over a week ago, he went 5.1 innings in Boston, allowing just one earned run on three hits and three walks. It's worth noting, that although Strider is just 2-0 overall, the Braves are 4-0 in games where he starts.

Ranger Suarez has not pitched against the Braves this year, but Atlanta hitters are plenty familiar with his game as he spent the last eight years as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East. Therefore, I side with the Braves' hitters being able to rip in apart as much as they can. The Braves batting average does not drop much against lefties either, so I would assume they'll have no problem putting men on base and creating runs.

As for the Red Sox, they also rip lefties. But they aren't facing one tonight. The Red Sox hit .240 as a team, just .229 against right handed pitchers and .224 at Fenway Park. They dropped three straight to the Twins, and against the hottest team in baseball, I don't see them turning things around tonight.
