Boston jumped out to a 5 run lead in the 2nd inning and never looked back. After starting the season 32-46, the Sox have a remarkable record of 31-5 since June 24th. They are currently 5 games out of 1st in the American League East and hold the 2nd Wild Card spot. Will their streak continue today? Let's take a look….

Game Picks: Boston Red Sox Team Total Over 5.5 -105 Lucky Rebel
If I am going to bet a team total of 5.5 i usually prefer plus money but his Red Sox offense is absolutely smoking right now so so I'll lay a small vig. During their 31-5 streak they are averaging 5.47 Runs per 9 Innings. On top of that, they have scored 75 runs over their last 10 games, including double digit runs in 3 of their last 4.
The Athletics own one of the worst pitching staffs in the majors. The A's have allowed 668 runs, which is the most in the majors. Additionally, they have allowed the most Home Runs (182) and the 2nd highest batting average against (.269). This includes their Bullpen, which has a league high 5.70 Earned run average.
Gage Jump is better on the road than he is at home and he did face the Red Sox recently as he pitched 6 shutout innings against them on July 28th, in Sacramento. I think the fact that Boston just saw him (for the first time) will lead to better results at the plate today. The Weather looks pristine for hitting as Fenway will see temps at 91 degrees and is rated the top hitting environment today according to Ballpark Pal. The Boston bats should stay hot and put another hurting on this awful pitching staff.

Abreu is having a fine season for the Sox. The let hander is hitting .256 with 20 home runs and 62 runs batted in, he should surpass career highs in all 3 categories. Like many Sox hitters, he is red hot at the plate right now. Abreu has hit this combo in 5 straight games, totaling 27. I am not concerend on the Left vs Left matchup here as Abreu is hitting .328 vs left handed pitching, with an ISO of .206. I'll look for his to stay hot today.
Player Prop: Andruw Monasterio Over 1.5 Total Bases +141 Lucky Rebel
Monasterio is hitting .272 on the season with 6 home runs and 29 runs batted in. He is coming on lately has he is riding a 9 game hit streak, clearing this mark in 6 of those games. He is also hitting well against left handed pitching as he owns a .280 average and an outstanding .317 ISO vs southpaws.
You can pick just about any hitter in this lineup right now but I like these two to continue to produce today.
